  1. They would be expected to retail for about R290 incl. These are Abec-5 level, angular contact, double sealed bearings
  2. For longevity, it's recommended to use angular contact bearings such as the ones found in DT hubs. Of course this is just a suggestion
  3. Thanks or the kind words! We try our best
  4. Correct, you will need both a new hub and spokes. As I see you have mentioned you found a 350 hub I have taken the liberty of doing three spoke calculations for you. Should you opt for the 350 hub mentioned, you will require longer spokes, however should you replace the hub with a 240s the lengths would not change. I have DM you the spoke calcs for the 350 boost change. Shout if you would need further assistance from me in supplying spokes, services or further info.
  5. Could not have said it better myself. Very real considerations to take into account
  6. Hi Swrid and thanks for your questions as this is one we get asked a lot. So the short answer is no, DT Swiss hubs are not convertible to or from Boost as it's the hub shell itself that is wider. While there are aftermarket brands which make adapters to convert to Boost, these will of course void any warranty on your product which is usually two years. If your hub is out of warranty, and you are happy to take any risk, perceived or real, by using these adapters then for sure this is a good solution. If you would prefer to keep your warranty or not take any risk by using aftermarket adapters, we would need to source you a new hub shell, axle, and new spokes. Let me know if you need assistance with any of these and I can let you know the best way forward. Cheers
  7. A pressure wash, while if used correctly, can be fine to wash bikes with, there is always that potential for human error that even the best of us can succumb to from time to time (especially if rushed and under pressure) Unfortunately/fortunately the 3pawl DT hubs aren't quite as well sealed as the Ratchet models so any stray water at high pressures will likely find it's way into the hub. This is of course to bring cost down (hence fortunately) but is certainly something to keep in mind
  8. Hey there, That does sound quite irregular - even for the 3pawl 360/370 hub! Does said LBS perhaps use things like a pressure wash maybe? Alternatively it could just be that the bike wasn't as new as advertised?
  9. Correct, the spares list will only be for the product you have narrowed the search down to and as freehubs almost all take the same size bearings it's usually the hub that people have and issue with.
  10. Hi Hairy, Nice to see so many clued up Hubbers coming to assistance! A neat trick DT Swiss added to their updated website just over a year ago, which everyone including workshops and end consumers can benefit from is the Support page. Simply follow these steps for anyone wanting to know more details about their specific product and what spares are required etc... 1. On DT Swiss homepage click on Support 2. In the Support page click on Product Support found under Self Service 3. On newer models of wheels and components, all DT products have a QR code with numbers one can use to input your product details and immediately find further info. If your product was produced prior to this innovation, see step 4 4. Scroll down to where it says "Product has no ID" and use the drop down menu to select product type - in your case "Hubs" 5. Select the various features of your hub in the subsequent drop down menus... - Model (360) - Model year (2018) - Field of application (MTB) - Axle system (12mm Thru Axle) - Built in dimension (148mm Boost) - Brake interface (Disc IS (6bolt)) - Freehub system (3pawl) This will yield one product found for which clicking on this product the list of spare parts are provided As you will see your hub requires the following: Ball bearing 6902 Ø 15/28x7mm DIAMETER 1 [MM] (D1)15.0DIAMETER 2 [MM] (D2)28.0WIDTH 1 [MM] (B1)7.0BEARING QUALITYStandardSHORT NAMEB.BEARING 6902 ESB/ESNB LMATERIAL NUMBERHSBXXX00N2336SAMOUNT2 PCMy suggestion is to try source this bearing through one of our dealers as DT uses angular contact bearings which are best suited to wheel/hub use. I can gladly get in touch with your preferred LBS in order to have these bearings sent to them for you?
  11. Hello Hubbers, Phew what a year 2020 was! One I'm sure many of us would like to forget... We would like to wish each and every one of you a successful year ahead, hopefully finding time to balance life with the people and things we love doing! From our side, we are excited to announce that there are some great initiatives on the way this year for DT Swiss, but more on that later. Right now it's important for those who aren't already aware to better understand the production and logistical delays all distributors and therefore all dealers are facing right now, and it goes without saying that all service providers are undoubtedly doing their best to try cater for the explosion in demand that cycling has seen. As always, we are here to help though so please feel free to fire away with any questions, criticisms or compliments you wish to address! From all of us at Get Stoked Distribution: Happy riding and stay safe!
  12. Sent you a DM.
  13. We'll get you sorted out asap then Danie
  14. Hi there, It's a shame that you haven't had much luck in getting the spokes you need - we even offer spokes in single pieces now and same day delivery to Cape Town (next day to major cities) so there is really no reason your local dealer shouldn't be able to assist you. Hubs, rims etc are supplied to end consumers as they would still require you have a professional wheel build completed by an experience dealer. The same goes for the tools and skills required to service hubs. Let us know which bike shop you would prefer to source spokes from and we will gladly get in touch to sort you out! We literally only carry double butted spokes
  15. Hi Diesel, Most should have so it's hard to specifically say which to go to as we have probably 200 dealers in the Western Cape. I have DM you to find your exact location, but any store can source this item from us at same or next day turn around times
  16. Hi Danie, If you're based Western Cape I can point you to any number of stores which have - I will DM you for your exact area. We typically carry good stock of this at all times and again, this falls under our essential spares program which we incentivize our dealers to carry.
  17. Glad we can help!
  18. Sorry to hear that Max! We carry very good stock of the tool in question and provide incentives to all dealers to carry it as it's an absolutely essential tool to have as a workshop. If you'd like I can let you know the best stores to contact in your area who have this tool? Alternatively I can ensure your preferred dealer is sent this tool asap? Cheers
  19. Hey Hubbers - Happy hump day! In this post aimed at educating the DT community we discuss often perplexing names or abbreviations used by DT Swiss that are [mostly] unique to DT... Spline: Refers to the hub/spoke interface being straightpull (Straight Pull Line) Classic: Refers to the hub/spoke interface being J-bend Rotor: Refers to the freehub body DICUT: Refers to the hub/spoke interface being Diagonally Cut that uses proprietary T-head spokes RWS: Stands for Ratcheting Wheel Skewer (thru axles and skewers with trademark adjustable lever) Hybrid: Is the product range primarily used for E-bikes PHR: "Pro Head Reinforcement" is the technology used in conjunction with certain nipples with the same abbreviation. Squorx: DT's top of the range rear drive nipples that is a blend between Double Square and Torx designs Prolock: The thread lock/spoke prep pre impregnated into nipples that carry the name "Prolock" or the abbreviation "PL" in their name
  20. If the Shimano lockring fits it would certainly point to there not necessarily being a compatibility issue, but there may be functionality issues down the line that would then no longer be covered by any warranty should you bought these hubs new
  21. Hi Knersboy, Sorry if I wasn't being clear there, but I meant are you also using a centrelock disc or is it a 6bolt disc being adapted to fit the hub. You will need to use a DT Swiss lockring with a DT hub to maintain your warranty and to ensure safety. Furthermore DT Swiss require that you use the full centrelock to IS (6bolt) adapter assembly if you are indeed adapting the CL hub to fit a 6bolt rotor/disc Hope this answers your question!
  22. Might be a bit ambiguous that! Edited, with thanks
  23. Hi there, Thanks for the query! Are you fitting a centrelock disc/rotor to the CL hub or is it a 6bolt disc/rotor you are fitting to a centrelock hub with the use of an adapter?
  24. No problem Gerhard. We will soon be restocking a full range of bearings for all DT hubs should you need. (Sealed cartridge bearings) Welcome to send me photos of your freehub internals for me to confirm whether it is indeed DT Swiss you are rolling on.
