  1. The cracked rim would normally be an indication of an old rim with plenty miles. As for the nipples I don't know, looks more like with the corrosion, they have been over tightened with a spoke key and cracked. Just my 2 cents worth.
  2. Monies in the bank , no consultation with VS only the bank. The bank must have been sitting on the money all the time. Should ask them where's my interest. Do the banks hold the monies until the date the services are to be rendered?
  3. Low lives, thats all I can say. Should take them to a dark corner and dispose of the rubbish!! Don't waste anymore time and money on them.
  4. The bottlenecks last year, were they in the 70km or the short?
  5. Lets see if I manage to do this one without getting sick just before the event.
  6. Do a 40, pace yourself.
  7. Still have it. Want it
  8. YIP I have a 70 and 40 up for grabs.
  9. YIP I understand. And I still have not received a mail, pm'd Tim no response. At this stage you can't do any queries telephonically or via e-mail according to the organisers, only at registration venues and I'm out on the East Rand. Aaaaggggggg!!!!! One 70km and one 40km entry going to waste I'm afraid.
  10. I'm still waiting. I would like to sell mine as I am unable to ride. Can't do anything until I get the mail!!! I can see this becoming a wasted entry.
  11. I got a phone call from FNB confirming that they will be refunding all my moneis on Monday 9th July 2012. Anybody else having the same luck?
  12. Well done Chris, nice to see somthing been given back. Cool!!
  13. Haha typical post "previous regime" thinking. I hear of many lives been taken by the public service transport system (Taxis) in SA every day, why don't they focus on sorting that out!!
  14. Assemble to original manufactures specification (without loctite) and it will not come loose.
  15. Try having it welded by somebody who knows what they are doing, you have nothing to lose.
  16. Hey Tumbleweed nice meeting you and the Pro Cycles guys, what a lekker ride. Must do it again. All the Springs Wheelers enjoyed themselves and say thanks for sharing your trails with them.
  17. That's an idea, thanks mate.
  18. I found a Garmin Edge at the Lionman, still not found the owner!!!
  19. I will be there, I got a personal invite
  20. I would normally fit the new chain with the old cassette (if it is not obvious that the cassette should be replaced) then ride the bike. If the chain does not slip on the cassette then ride as is. Remember a worn cassette will not damage a new chain but a worn chain will damage a new cassette and chain rings.
  21. My wife settled for the Merida 120 Juliet and is over the moon. It has improved her endurance and race average compared to her hardtail, lot less fatigue I guess.
  22. My bike came with Rocket Rons. Went tubless just before Berg & Bush last year, Conti on the back Rocket Ron on the front. No issues, must say rocket ron side walls are very thin. My missus bike came with Racing Ralphs front and rear. Went tubless, no issues.
  23. Maybe your nutz have not dropped yet!! Just joking, strange, we are all humans yet we require different saddles to get comfy.
