  1. Another thing about Postmen...It is required by law any person riding a bicycle on a public road should wear a helmet ...our posties don't.
  2. I have had bb's last for years and I've had one pack up after 6 months, The shimano screw in cup bb's certainly outlasted the one piece sealed octolink bb's...indecently its almost always the drive side I have 4 replaced bb's lying around and all the left side bearings still good. The heavier you are and if you do single track certainly is a factor.... my ridding buddy is over 100kg and he goes through bb's faster than me.The bb that collapsed on me was when I was doing single track 4-5 times a week.
  3. 00PS ...one 0 to many meant to be 50 cm LOL
  4. 00PS ...one 0 to many ment to be 50 cm LOL
  5. It often amazes me the amount of folks that actually don't know the size of their vehicles and the clearance when passing and weaving between other vehicles. I drive a 4x4 and will sit behind these tiny lunchbox cars who will hesitate or stop and wait before squeezing through a gap of a good 50 cm clearance on each side. OK So its good to be cautious. I see it with cars behind me I fit through a gap easily and you'll see the little car behind me stop to negotiate the gap. didn't he see the big ass 4x4 fitted through the gap easily and he/her smaller car would do it even easier. They then battle to apply this when passing cyclists. I'm guessing the driver car that passed you then looked in he's mirrors to see if he'd passed you and momentarily veered to the side while he's attention was focused on the mirrors.
  6. [ My regular midweek ride Up the berg and back, The Tokai trails.. stopping at the turnaround point to take in the view
  7. I confronted one of these gu tossers on the Tokai mountain bike trails a couple of weeks back and got the Fu*&% you explanation for my troubles...The gu obviously works because I couldn't catch him to respond with my reply.
  8. I'm 174 and after my research I'm looking at a large 29'r ,I have been riding a large specialized 26'r. have a look I raised the question some weeks back and got the guys to list the bike makes and sizes they swopped from
  9. It wasn't stolen it was abducted our Alien migrant workers in Cape Town have a good thing going with bike theft. When you report it stolen the police officer asks you if you are insured and when you answer affirmatively...you can see the paperwork is a formality .
  10. yep the BMI indicator is discriminatory...even with a fair fitness evaluator who will assure you your build muscle tone is being negatively portrayed and in fact you are the picture of health...your BMI indicator still gets recorded as per index. yet if you go for an assessment and have lost 10 kg's due to serious illness your BMI will indicate you are healthy. Like most indicators it is a combination of tests that portray your general health and I agree to much emphasis is placed on the BMI results.
  11. Some of these group riders and their attitudes to fellow rode users bike and car really suck. Unfortunally Not all folks that ride bikes have manners. I bet even if they are fellow hubbers and read this they would not be man/woman enough to apologise. A thumbs up to all the friendly responsible cyclists out there
  12. Ok ...so MOST of you guys have been on 29'rs for a couple of years now...I'm in the process of getting a new bike.So Here's the thing .I have noticed well it looks like some guys switched up and dropped a frame size.Having heard lots of folks regretted this.So from you guys that are actually done a switch and currently riding 29'rs. Give me the bike 26'r make and frame size...what you moved onto 29"R make and frame size and if you are still happy with the choice...PLEASE include the make's of bike as frame sizeing and geometry differ . Thanks H .
