  1. i Got my wife a pair of American Classic' 30' on buycycle for R3900, they come tubeless ready. Then got conti tubeless tires for around R500 each. I am very impressed with the wheels, if I spin the front wheel it keeps spinning for 7 minutes, it just goes and goes
  2. No I agree its swak Already booked and payed everything why not host it on the sat? Atleast then if you organised to stay over the weekend your plans could have stayed the same or even better why not keep it on sunday and improvise the route? **** happens, but you don't go and change dates that will make it impossible for non locals to enter your event. And what makes it even worse is how they did the date change, atleast when the actionford changed its date they notified everyone who already entered. Can't say the same for these bloakes.
  3. entered minutes before the entry closed, was a fast race last year. C group came in at 3:06 I think
  4. Any route profiles yet? Sounds like a good race Just to bad its on the sunday. So doing the race and driving back to jhb is not really an option so it then requires leave.... Would have been cool if it was on the saturday
  5. pulling out of this race because of the date change We booked and paid everything was gonna go down to durbs fro the weekend and come back the monday, so it doesn't require leave etc. But the 3 of us can't do the race and then only leave for jhb at 1 after having lunch. Such a dissapointment and bad planning.
  6. agreed which is why the strava activity I used soruce is garmin. But I also picked up abnormalities with the argus elevation profiles, from my garmin and for my wife strava app which runs on android.. Well its somewhere between 900 and 650 then, there is only one way to find out
  7. please upload a route profile, and or strava route Sounds like my kinda race, but would like to see it first Edit** I see its timed by timeMe Does that mean I need another chip? I already have racetec and championchip
  8. from strava elevation is 900 650 is way to little elevation in my mind also doing this one for the first time, full road closure attracted me after the scares we had at the ride for sight and the carnival incident
  9. got a road calender and they moved it to may this year Known as the sondela super classic

its a shame not allot of other races offer this option wonder if they will legalize it in the 94.7? Doing the tour de durban in april, would have loved to do that one twice as well.
  11. I prefer to keep mtb cadence on 80 And road between 95 and 105

Agreed we left a bit late It was ok til we reached bloem at 20:00, had to fill up, it was freezing and then the last 3 & a half hours we drove in the dark and in the rain, no fun. Gonna def do it again next year but I either have to stay longer or take a flight to make it more worth my while
  14. Howzit we are actually going down hekpoort. Race is not bad but those strips in the first 5 kms usually cause havoc with atleast 20% of ppl waterbottles falling out. They stole 2 cars during last years event, so still contemplating if I want to do it this year. Cause their is the emperors the week after which is flat and fast and the tour durban at the end of the month.

what a race and that wind, for us coming from GP the wind was a really big wake up call especially on the descents I found a lot of guys passing me there, i just didn't feel comfortable with that hectic gusts of wind. I felt really strong on the climbs, but on chappies and sukerbos descents I got passed by a lot of peeps, when we came to camps bay I had some matches left and outsprinted the group with 2 kms to go, ended with a 3:10 not to bad for my 1st Argus, not the sub 3 I hoped for though Then I made my way to the start as I was about to enter the shutes my spoke blew Quickly had it repaired and started just after the last group. In no time I rallied most of the second time riders we were about 15 I think, also had a nice pace, but I ran out of water and neva saw them again. second lap ended in a 3:54, Im happy with that. To everyone that gave me space when a guy with a green helmet and bike came past and shouted passing on ur right or coming through on the right thank you, Out of all the people I passed only 2 did not give way, 1 was stubborn and the other had earphones on. Will def be back next year but not driving again shucks that drive was soooo long ***Edit Can Anyone who did the race twice see their second lap results? I can only see the first

  17. pedal power added r4S to seeding woohooo si down to 16.23, its beta is 0.93 though . which mean they think berge & dale and r4s is the same but the fast one is tougher than both... wtf?

howzit guys. We gonna stay in the southern sun cape sun. Anybody know an relatively easy-enjoyable 20-25Km route we can do on the sat as a warmup?
  19. you are correct. thanks havent seen this link before So with a 17.93 index, I only start at E wow. Competition must be stiff
  20. eish monday morning soz. Also can't wait. saw my berge & dale race took my index down to 17 this, r4s might take it down to like 15. But I am still starting in D at at the Argus, wish they could have included berge & R4S results
  21. are you sure? Only my 2013 ride fro sight results are displaying
  22. I spoke to one of the girls, they didn't race for time, they raced for the win. Yesterday was a repeat of attack, chase slow down/recover rinse & repeat. No wonder Anli said they quality of road racing for women in sa is not up to standard.
  23. It was an unexpected victory. glad I stuck to whiskey & water ;-)
  24. I must say other for the accident it was a nice race Does anyone remember if there was any crashes in the berge and dale race? I think I might opt for the more hilly races, it looks like its splits the bunches quickly and then is safer riding from there and also more racing. I tried to rotate at the front of AL yesterday, went to the front, and then as the next few took over I was never allowed to take a turn again, came out in the middle somewhere almost 150 metres from the front and thought to myself, srew it, these wheelsuckers wont even allow you to make the pace quicker. other than that very happy with my 3:00 compared to last years 3:31
  25. He is way to expensive. Got 3 different quotes, He charges on average 500% more Thanks, ive heard people moan about the saddle bag? Please explain why is such an big issue, if its not there I will have to carry the bomb, tube, lever, nossle in my pockets anyways. Wow ive never sees these, how do they stack up in performance. They do look really sweet though. Thx for all the replies. doing the decals first along with the pedals Will then start looking at tape/saddle options
