  1. agreed lost 10 kgs on paleo, had 2:20 improvement on the real hilsnacks segment. Just to bad a spoke had to go just after that and force me into the second group
  2. the pulled quintana from the tour. In movistar valverde is still the leader and they said quintana needs some leadership qualities. So he is going for the win in the giro and not competing in the tour and valverde is going for the tour. He has the potential to be one of the best, but remember being great for one race is easy, being consistently great over years is what makes the exceptional, only time will tell.
  3. second argus entry done and dusted
  4. I did close to 10 road races last year. This is one of the reasons why I don't bother with championchip races, you usually just get a piece of paper. R4S is in my mind the best oprganised race behind the 94.7. But big up to the fast one this year, organizationw as also good
  5. Exactly why I want to go and ride with my wife. She is not a race snake and usually does about 21 km/h avg on these hilly races, but to protect her, help her and assist wherever possible could make enjoyable for both of us. Thinking of taking 2 extra tubes and a few GU's with me to also help other riders that got stuck or need help along the route.
  6. i considered riding it twice, just got the mail now I start in E at 6:29, worst case scenario I finish 9:40, quickly jump in the queue to start the 2nd one before 9:50: Then chase after my wife who started at 8:22 and if I catch her njoy some part of the race together
  7. Between 4:45 and 5:00 , u can see that on Strava. Its brian BTW.
  8. pm me your phone numbers and I will get you added to the whatsapp group
  9. we have a group, dont know if Louis is reading this. But its mainly mtb there is the odd road rides on weekends. I do however ride in the morning but on a personalized program, and ppl can join but most ppl always want to go hard and dont get wile 3/5 morning we go at only 67 or 75% Shaun you from Cresta Wheelers right?
  10. Al too. Look out for me in the Northcliffe's kit and the green evad bike

    Argus 2014

First argus, And im in E, not to bad I reckon but I hear chances of doing a sub 3 after C is very small
  12. The wilro is also very flat imho. Has anyone done the jakaranda pre argus ride? Il do the jock before the d2d though. So no other climby races for the season in jhb? Luckily I am doing the argus so that will be a bit of a challenge too
  13. well done then, its a good time. But you know long rides aren't mpossible, just need to train right. Stress ur body then recover, stress then recover etc. My wife did a 2:49 last year on the 55 km course, this year she did the full one in 4:27, so it is possible Goodluck
  14. looking forward to this one. Was a big noob last year when i did this, 2nd 50 km was a sufferfest. My r4s last year was about 6 min slower than berge & dale. Berge & dale : 3:25, R4S 3:31 Is that about the average?
  15. did you do the 102 and finish in 2:33??? Anyways it was a good race I had no issues, marshals were good etc, just the mechanical issues. Will have to wait till next year. Anybody know of any other races that has a similar profile to this? I know R4s & National steel classic are both flat
  16. what a bad luck race again. started in AL, managed to keep with the top oakes untill we came down sterkies my spoke blew. stopped, did a temp fix caught second batch of al rides. worked nicely on a rotation system for 50 km till the oakes started attacking, but if you attacked you will hate me(on the green evad bike) cause I chased every single one of you down, only to have a second spoke blow on the t junction to the n14, 2:54 not bad considering I had to stop twice and lost 2 spokes
  17. did my first one last year, first 60 km was fast but I was at the back of the group, when the climbs started got dropped and suffered the rest of the way, think it was a 3:30, I will have my revenge this year
  18. Approx 1.100m http://www.strava.com/routes/162080
  19. About the same in my opinion. After KDH you have a long downhill until you hit the lion park circle, then there is some rolling hills, once you cross the crocodile river its an avg gradient hill for about 10k, with a downhill past carnivore and the last 2 km climb on the highway
  20. Lets hope my climb work on sunday paid off(2000 meters of climbing)
  21. Al for me 6:35 This was the first race I did on a roadbike last year, finished with a 3:25 Hope to o much better this year
  22. if a bike is one size to small or to big you can play around with seat position and/or stems to make it fit. But more than one size I won't recommend. take the bike some where and do a proper bike fit to see if it will do the job
  23. It was on the first flyer I got and on the website. its the only reason I did the entire series so yes I am sure
  24. at new Cycle Lab, but on thursday when I collected the racepacks. According to francois they are only there till today
  25. like the picture above just make sure the lever is on the side of the scewer and not on the end. most new ones are on the end. I got one from kajees for R60
