  1. Also got mine but still very dissapointed don't advertise all finishers get a ull columbia kit and then issue them with a R100 tshirt.
  2. well you could or you could just fit heavier tubes and tires on ur training wheels. And fill them with slime if you wish, might end up adding 1/2 kg per wheel
  3. We started with this sleek geek reboot(strict paleo) thing last week monday At first it was ok but now I stay hungry and I get cravings like a pregnant women. I just hope it passes soon. I feel good though, cycling performance has stayed the same. Lost 3.7 kilos though which is quite a lot. i am using my fitness pal + fitbit to tract my calories, but still loosing weight. I am 1.94 and weighing 86.7 now. Which is probs good enough, the wife is moaning I am to skinny already
  4. Id like to do it But already enterred r4s and berge for feb, and the argus. Stuff is getting expensive + Im paying for the misses 2...

  7. Oh cool! Nice meeting you. That is the nice thing about having a bike where there are only 2 in the country currently That group we formed there was lekker
  8. Think we rode together. You came pas with a few Bl oakes just before the last circle on beyers, then we rode together till me chain came off after than water point, I had the green evad bike.?
  9. IT was a tough race and very bad luck for me Started in AL had a bad speed wobble 4 km in, looks like the skewer went loose after a bump, when I got back on everyone was gone, then had to move trough the crash. Was chasing a decent group all the way, eventually we formed one just before the sterkies caves, only to have my chain come off at the waterpoint, lost the group again. Tried chasing them down, but one man in the wind just can't. Anyways finished with a 3:19, not great but ok considering circumstances. I know I worked hard though, avg HR was at 91% with a new max... ouch
  10. check your cleat positions I suffered the same pain. The easiest way to fix it is toe check if your cleats is in maximum power position, to configure this is to put masking tape on the on your shoe closest to the frame bring the pedal to 3 o'Clock. make a mark on the masking tape where the center of the pedal axle is, and make sure its aligned to the Metartarso phalangeal joint(the most outer bone just behind your big toe). Once this is aligned it should solve the issue, repeat on the other side
  11. ITs nice I wont lie but I prefer the unique version
  12. im sure the flyers at the beginning said finishers of all 5 races will receive a columbia kit, not a tshirt....
  13. I know but we kept catching other groups. 27
  14. sigh was asking for advice not criticism. Just wanted to know if someone else found the level om climbing not on par with other races Im not used to hop from group to group to group in one race
  15. Recently received this after my ghost carbon frame cracked. Its a re branded Cervelo S5 Aero road frame. Though some reviews says its an harsh ride, I found it very comfortable & stiff.
  16. it was my second 94. last year I road it to finish. This year I raced it. I started in f, and I must say I was quite disappointing with the level of the riders climbing ability. Usually in other races the front of group sticks together. But as soon as there was a little climb I would go to the front at about 22km/h and then no one would follow. Happened on witkoppen, and malibongwe and then on the N14 but this time I didn't fall back but kept going. Which resulted in me going the last 30 km solo. And id like to think im decent on climbs , but i wont say I am great Afterwards I checked on strava my avg on the N14 was just over 30 km/h, but there were more than 150+ people ahead of me. Does this mean I should aim for a higher start group?
  17. if your mtb is heavier it is a good thing, it will make you stronger But I do recommend some training on the road bike, to get used to descents, the skinny weels and the drops. I sometime pick 3 to 4 routes, do them with the road bike. then train those same routes on the mtb, for 2 weeks, then go back to the road bike, you will be shocked to see the time improvements. It terms of training on the road, pick safe areas the cradle- cycle lanes fairly safe and lots of other cyclists suikerbosrand nature reserve almost no cars and nice hills or train early in the morning when the roads are quite.
  18. I got hit by a cyclist that was riding on the opposite side of the road. I t was on northumbeland, just before rock cottage, I was on the left. Saw him and said he must get out of the way, he did and then he got scared with a car passing by, and sharply turned his bike into mine. So for me its easy keep left, its already hard enough keep left and staying safe, if we have to dodge each other it just makes it even more dangerous.
  19. I was the guy with the jock kit and red/black ghost with evad rims. What were you wearing? 1st race since the Nigel classic, but atleast i didn't get dropped by the group this time Almost dropped them on the climbs though Actionphoto works with stickers, these were probs private photographers
  20. wast bad at all Got delayed because of the bottleneck at the mats but chased hard to get a decent group and we worked well together. Finished with 2:51 which is not to bad for a 100 km race
  21. does anyone know who is actually doing the timing for this race? On cyclelab's site it states championchip But I logged into my racetec profile this morning and saw the race there.....??????

  23. after speaking to francois this is the easiest of all the trailseekers. So if he is a beginner def go with this vg is tough even for seasoned mtbers entered the half marathon again. gonna aim for that top 10 finish at hakahana i started in b and finished 75th overall, not to bad but I was still caught in those damn queues.
  24. Isnt there some ruels somewhere that says an event has to be atleast 90km and atleast something like 500 finishers to qualify as a seeding event
