  2. Just call dryland, they sometimes help with extra entries after they closed
  3. Go for a bike fit, usually your left leg is bit shorter than the right, then it probably wont be an issue and my fitter agreed, i was going the same direction but got a powertap wheel for cheap
  4. wel die goeie nuus is die weer kan net beter raak!!
  5. i would rather not let them touch the road, the wind looks to be from the front the whole way, we going to be eating lots of stof for hours
  6. JohanDiv..yes langwater is the deepest one just after a waterpoint, knee deep, rocky with the cement at the end. I went swimming last year
  7. I am sure everybody is very exited about all the war stories of the past weekend..haha...firstly congrats to all the finishers, the conditions were perfect..hopefully we get the same for the repeat. Any advice for the road conditions and the perfect line through langwater...haha

  9. My eagle xo1 chain came with groupset off joggie prinsloo's old scott spark whick he rode the wine to wales with nino a couple years back. Chain also not showing wear. I wasnt sure if im measuring wrong, bought a gx chain rode it till it showed 0.05 wear and put the xo1 chain back. And still better shape than the gx chain. 5000+km
  10. X01 chain also have super long life

  12. just out of curiosity in a nutshell, how do you guys fuel for such long event, how do the biogen gels stack up to powergels and rocktane gels. Can you actually fuel up to WP3 and then survive of the tables
  13. Ron or Ralph on front last whole season but at the rear only about 2000km, lot of patches usually...but the stans patches was visible on spez and maxxis tyres aswell. It just confirms there is sealand in the tyre, haha. Rather run fast track or ikon on the back for more miles and they are cheaper
  14. My crest failed aswell, somehow I don't feel comfortable with the Mk3 rims for replacement. Crest or arch, evobikes have the AM28 rims, same weight as arches at 455g, 24mm ID and about R900 per rim
  15. deleted..rephrasing, needing a old in the way, dusty broken mtb powertap pro SL+ hub which cannot be used anymore or sold for spare parts..mainly the axle. ridr and Kalahari Vegmot hope you aprove!!

  17. I see everybody is riding the new 29 x 2.25 maxxis aspen but nobody is reviewing or talking about them. Any opinions out there?
  18. This atta was lekka tough, hope you all survived and finished, managed to fall twice. Haven't touched my bike since, still full of mud, too scared to wash it, think the mud is holding some parts together. Thanks BSG for all the updates and the ATTA waterpoints were great!!
  19. Bhahaha, I don't believe that for a second, seeing is believing on the day
  20. yes where is all the excitement, 1st atta last year and bonked and pulled out at 95km heeltemal m**rtoe. Totally under estimated the atta. Hopefully this is the finishing year. Its been extremely hot here in the karoo lately. Bring the sunscreen its gonna be a cooking show
  21. Think the poort race is going to be a quiet one this year, most k2c guys and all of my mates are resting for the tour de plett coming up next weekend and the nissan trailseeker(wp marathon) is in hermanus this weekend. Between those 2 races the poort is actually a bit on the boring side.
  22. yes what Skubarra said, the poort going up is a burner and it just get harder specialy when you want to stick to a faster bunch. Wind was terrible last year comming down the poort and will probably be the same this year. Pick a nice bunch and stick to them.
  23. Yes see you guys there
