  1. Installed mine over the weekend.
  2. I had a situation like that as well, cut my hubs out of the rims, only difference is I gave my rims away for free.
  3. Buys had done very well with nino, he is roughly 8kg heavier than nino and with all the climing no wonder he is just keeping up.
  4. How exiting was this stage, Buys jou doring!!
  5. Rabon turned out to be quite exiting to watch, you never know what to expect, this morning I didn't think he was going to make to keep up and he surprised quite a few!
  6. Thanks for the input guys
  7. I think I will stick to the gears for now, like to ride the rough stuff. 34-19 seems a bit tough on my weak knees.
  8. noob question, what would be the near perfect SS gear combination for the mountainous cape?
  9. yes however the first RaRa's and RoRo's 27.5 was evo and non snakeskin. But the contis protections sidewalls are defiantly thicker then the snakeskins as well. My xking on the front is buckled as well however it doesn't seem to affect performance. Its got 4000km on it and almost done.
  10. Scott and spez are great shoes, can't go wrong with giro privateers.
  11. Nice and fast route. Done it last year. See you guys there!!
  12. So what was the tyre choice for this years attakwas?
  13. Yes its going to be hot, from last year I changed my kit to mostly white. Hope it helps. Lol
  14. Interesting tread, I don't think I can add anything else that is not said all ready. See what works for you and let your body adapt to the timing and supplement taken. Use your supplement you train with to race with and take them the same times. Your body will be use to it and you will have good results. Know your body and your limits.
  15. Agree!! KCNC Scadium post
  16. awesome bike milky!!
  17. Hey milky, post a pic of your ride!!
  18. Wolftooth is making a 42 tooth blade just like one up components to fit on the rear. If the demand is big enough they are going to make a 40 tooth as well. Hopefully evobikes will bring them in. The 42 from one up components is a bit steep.
  19. yup, Evo and buycycle, however evo are the only guys carrying stock till next year. the wolftooth rings are more durable than the raceface rings I read on another thread.
  20. Nice bike jcmeyerSS. Milky go with the 36. The power will come, haha. Depends on the terain aswell. If I ride a 80km here in the karoo its nothing less than 2000m climbing and rocky. Thats why the xx1 cranks are so nice. The BCD is small and you can change the rings on the cranks without removing the cranks. If you have moola that is and get the whole range of rings.
  21. 34 would be the allrounder, you will just spin out and the granny would just just be enough. 36 if you weigh less than 72kg and have the power I would say.
  22. I would still go anyway, just pack accordingly, waterproof gear, extra black bags and lightweight waterproof sail and extra rope to cover things in the hell. A roll of cling wrap, cling wrap your mtb shoes to keep the mud out when you ride, haha. It works. If the rain is going to be too much just don't ride, camp it out and make a weekend of it.
  23. 85kg- 29er xking front 1.5 and race king rear 1.7 racing ralphs front and back 1.4F 1.6R Ikons front and back 1.4F 1.5B crossmarks front and back 1.8F 2.1R . they tend to slow down with lower presures. Fast track front 1.6 renegade control rear 1.8 My brothers are heavier so the pump their wheel 0.15 - 0.2bar harder for every 5kg above 85kg
  24. Yes the renegades are nice, even the 29 x 1.95 is as wide as my 2.1 crossmark and weighs in at 530g. Perfect rear tire for flatish races.
