  1. I have a pair of Irwin quick grips that live below the bench and are my spare hands all the time and are really good. A few Bora's of similar design and price but not as good and then a fleet of <R100 chinese ones for when things get busy. They don't exert as much force but are fine for normal glue ups. For big stuff ?eclipse and record sash clamps

  3. I only know of Bells (specialized) and Cycle Tribe in Nelspruit
  4. There is great riding in the area, lots of quietish roads with a nice yellow shoulder, but not much flat! Depending where you are based White River-Sabie and back on the R537 is a good run, can also carry on to Graskop on the R532 but probably want to meet someone for pancakes there and get a lift back depending on how fit you are. Sabie up the start of Long Tom (R532) then down the R37 to Brondal and accross to White River (road is a bit rough) then back to Sabie. Or can carry on past Brondal to edge of Nelspruit and back. This was used quite a bit in the Panorama Tour. If you really want to climb then go from Nelspruit up to the top of Kaapshoop for coffee and back. The R40 White River - Hazyview has a shoulder but can get pretty busy and not sure if people are regularly riding from that road to Sabies (eg through Kiepersol) , was getting a bit busy and rough. Have friends in the area who ride, so pm me if interested and will see if they want to ride or at least can give you some updated info.

  6. I've done this more than a few times with a big SDS drill and 1.2m thick stone walls!
  7. Yes there are definite tire issues, and its not just that spot or side either, haven't got around to looking at it with a cool head yet ????
  8. Have been running squirt with the extra granules for 6 months or so and no issues, it was definitely sealing for small devil thorns etc, but was on tires that previously had Sludge sealant in them. The night before a big trip (of course) I decide I really must get off by butt and put a new rear tire on. Pull a new continental off the shelf, put it all together and have never seen such a porous continental in my life. About 6 R1 coin size areas bubbling away and tire goes flat in a few minutes. Long story short, multiple short rides, re-inflations, top ups of fluid and mounting desperation and some abusive language I decide to see if it will settle over night. Next morning same story, rip it off, put a Mavic tire on and all is sweetness and light. My sense of humor has not returned fully so haven't tried the same tire with something else yet, but new Contis often sweat but have always managed to seal them with Stans or Sludge before. So probably was my last bottle of Squirt.
  9. Find someone in life who looks after you like Martinez does Bernal!
  10. That was a boxing match at the end!
  11. Working with what I had and getting the most out of the various pieces ended up with kiaat frames for the chairs, pod mahogany and kiaat back slats and rhodesian teak seat slats. Stools are pod mahogany frames and various teak slats. All timber from friends and family farms in Zim (the pod mahogany was still pit sawn) so lots of memory ad history in it for me.
  12. So after getting my rough sawn kiaat and pod mahogany re-sawn via the kind assistance of Stretched@Birth got going in fits and starts in making 2 adirondack chairs with matching adjustable foot stools.
  13. ???????? I feel exactly the same, been waiting till we get onto a new page to post!
