I saw a article somewhere with pictures of his new bike. And the pedals were a combination. They were flat pedals with eggbeater type clip on inside. So I figure if he got his foot knocked out of the clip he would just continue with the flat. Therefore no time wasted.

I hear you mate. But normal civilians can't do what you did. I realize the guy might never do time. But he can't get off with nothing. At the end of the day, in some cases it's just an accident, but unfortunately most of these taxi drivers have no regard for other road users. They do as they wish and you have to look out for them. In my mind that changes things. In those cases when their actions result in a death, they should have the book thrown at them.

I ride there often, and what I can't understand is guys with bikes on the back of their cars coming past at seed and way closer than they should. One would think, of all people, they will have heard of the 1.5m rule. Also when they first put the new speed humps in they were not painted and very hard to see.
