That is brilliant! I have safety razor blades that come in a little plastic box. May start carrying that because the plug thing is a real issue. Will also play nicely with the zip ties I carry.

I have DHF front and Ikon back. Weird combo (I don't enduro) but I got the DHF at a song to replace an Ardent up front. Swap the rear out and see from there. My bike still rolls plenty fast for marathon races and I have immense trust in my front for everything else. Great suggestion! My wife has Aggressor front and Ikon back

Get your own decals made. My wife's bike is on its 3rd colour! Easy enough to download the logo, measure the size and go to town. Once you have the file you just drop in any pattern and send it to the local printers and bam, new bike every week if you wish. The first one, very large vector pattern that took forever to edit. never again... Second time around was just a standard bitmap. Much easier! You don't see the quality anyway and it's really easy to come by on google images. Third time I sent my wife the files so she can sort it out herself. From wanting a bike that is pure black to this; A rainbow bike... Always comes out well and colour is never an issue. I have a more expensive issue now. THE WEIGHT! (the bike, not her)

I would say trail bike. Do you want to hurt on the uphills or the downhills? I would rather my legs suffer a bit more every climb and have a bit more bike for when I run out of talent. The only chance I ever have at a podium are fun races when everyone assumes it will be rained out and I enter the distance one up from the push bike ride.

Yeah Ikon rear, Ardent front. Can also get both in Gumwall for +3 to looks and +1 to grip (at a cost of -1 to durability)

Yeah I would go for the Trance29. Just slap an ikon on the back and you'll have your mid travel bike for longer races.

All over the world, a marathon is a huge achievement, but here it's a qualifier for comrades? I dread the day where you aren't a real MTBer if you haven't done the epic... That being said, I would love the opportunity to do it! Just don't have the right legs or wallet at the moment.
