  1. I was there Saturday and they were very very clean!
  2. You can buy a pair of Levis with Dyneema... Maybe Bontrager will bring out denim XC bibs and treat cycling world to another revolutionary new material?
  3. My day is made! Spent a while deciding my team name and thought I had no where to use it. Let's go Bromanteam!
  4. This!!! At least try run Forekaster on the front and Crossmark at the back? I think Crossmarks as a front tyre is suited to the riding style of never riding single track. Again, each to their own.
  5. What a pleasant surprise to see Foresta here! You are our LWS
  6. My wife's bike also has had it done. 10/10 would do it again.
  7. Jokes aside, this is an interesting read and points at the Trance 29
  8. Hahaha and if you have less travel then you can only hunt Strava segments at Northern farms. You think a bike can pedal at all with that seatpost angle???
  9. I would get the Trance. You are in the Western Cape, and I assume (from your questions) you aren't really going to be racing XC as in the discipline. You could always slap on some "XC" tyres. The lines between "trail" and "xc" and all these others are very blurry...
  10. Check your email again? I received one just after 2pm yesterday.
  11. Here is what I propose: This is what is currently in place, YELLOW route up the old single track. Used to be a lot better coming down but it is what it is. The RED route goes down the jeep track. This is not an issue most of the time but on Saturdays it is! That is the same jeep track PARKRUN comes up. It's a nightmare. The new route will make use of the other side of the single track for the route route to go down. This mean you don't share the route going in the opposite direction of Parkrun (you only cross it). Now we can enjoy the single track decent again!
  12. I have the Rudy Project Protera, chosen 100% because it fitted my pip the best. Pads are readily available and straps come out so they can be washed. Take a look at my helmet journey, might find some details that could help you in yours. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/170942-mtb-helmet-advice/
  13. Fixed ^ Also how fast your shoes wear out depends on a lot of factors. Lots of bike stuff is more than a few k and only lasts a year or 2. It looks like you have already made up your mind about changing to flats so just do it! I ride flats a few months out the year and it's humbling... You pick up so many bad habits by sticking to cleats all year round.
  14. I love the 2 time! I really want to try Apex but Dota Auto Chess has engulfed my life!!! A mod in a game that started as a mod in a game...
  15. Hugo Boss always did like some extra thigh room!
  16. I don't buy toys, I invest! http://mentalfloss.com/article/571080/lego-better-investment-than-stocks-bonds-gold On display in my house now I have: 21303-1: WALL-E 6990-1: Monorail Transport System 40187-1: Flower Display 42043-1: Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 A whole bunch of old sets and random things in a kist
  17. So from the first post: "I am working on a potential solution to track stolen/lost bikes via GPS and have put together a poll to determine the feasibility of such a device and/or service." Let's look at the first question: "Do you see a benefit to tracking & retrieving a stolen bike" - uh? How can it not be a benefit. Now with everyone obviously saying yes to this, can he YOU deduce that yes it is feasible? No doubt. We are fixating on the retrieval because that is the biggest issue we have. We have had tracking devices for years in cars. The issues are not can we fit a tracker to a bike, the issue is how can we stop the tracker being removed and how can we retrieve a tracked bike. This is where the service or product can be successful.
  18. So true! Okay cool, that's where my bike is. Rather my bike than me! What now? Round up some friends with guns and go on a vigilante mission? I pay lots for insurance, let them sort it out. No need to risk a life insurance claim on top of that.
  19. https://www.entryninja.com/events/event/43102-modderfontein-janu-worry Awesome deal!
  20. My next bike will be the Trance 29! I'm in the same boat. I would rather have more bike for when my talent runs out, and HTFU on the longer distances.
  21. This is my dream bike! Trance 29 built from the frame only option. It's metallic green mostly but goes a vibrant purple at certain angles the sun! This bike makes me bite my fist! https://www.instagram.com/p/BpsaliLFGOx/
