  1. I have the Giro Terraduro. They can take heaps of abuse and are so comfortable to walk in. I think I would get another pair but that will be in many many years time.
  2. My favourite socks are Charger socks. Graphics and background story aside, they are made so incredibly well!
  3. That's better! That sock guy is a joke... I'm boycotting socks altogether! Time to get a tri bike.
  4. Yeah I did the ruins today! There was a fairly large group of others that did it as well. If you want a group ride we can talk during some beers at Over the Moon this Wednesday
  5. Not useless at all!!! I would love to do a factory tour of the plant one day.
  6. Okay so if you have never been to the ruins... Follow red and end up at (A) on my map. You do the river section (up the creek, Red path on the map). After the river section, (A) don't cross the tar road. Follow black arrows with red borders, over the rocks and all that jazz (in orange on the map). There are other colour borders but i'm not sure if they reach the promised land. You will come across (B), the black arrow with white border. This takes you to the ruins and out of the Modderfontein reserve into the old factory. Can be tricky to navigate in there at one or two points as it's hardly ridden. We change that! Enjoy the Ruins of Mordor!
  7. https://www.strava.com/segments/20145124 The segment in question. Take a look on satellite view!
  8. When you are by the red river section, follow the red/black arrows, it goes over the rocks and some dreaded grass. You will see a white/black arrow. Follow that! It is unreal... tight and twisty through the old dynamite mine, up concrete ramps, through old buildings, walkways, dense bush, all just incredible!
  9. This is in the old dynamite factory. I think the arrow is black with a white border.
  10. There is plenty maintenance happening at modders! Take a look at this bit of ruins? I don't see many people riding that side and it's really special. Real post-apocalyptic Jurassic park vibes. If more people rode these trails, the less grass there would be for people to bitch about.
  11. Why do you want a round? Do you perceive a benefit? or just replacing with a round because the bike had one?
  12. Yeah! Last year I made a wrong turn on the monster decent and bombed down what I can only assume was an ancient hiking trail. That was me stuffed for the rest of the race... EDIT: The wrong turn in particular, don't do it!
  13. It's an incredible race, you won't be disappointed (maybe disappointed in your legs) If anyone still wants to enter this is from Stillwaters FB page: We will be taking a limited amount of late entries at the 2019 FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic due to popular demand. For more information on how to enter please contact entries@stillwatersports.com
  14. Isn't that the truth!!! I just need a new boss and new bibs
  15. Don't "train" Just go out and ride your bike! It's a blast and if you ride every weekend until then you will be fine.
  16. Hey! Also in the market for a king size XL. We have been all over trying beds and the cloud 9 is a great option. If you look overseas and on sites such as sleeplikethedead you will see the shift away from spings and coils (although a Simmons is another level of comfy). Cloud 9 along with a host of online only mattresses achieve all you need with just layers of foam. I don't think I can manage with memory foam, it's hard to roll over in the shop now imagine when i'm half asleep. I don't want that struggle. So yeah, we will probably get something with latex (natural or not) as the bounce is nice and offers great cooling. We need to try out a few more cloud 9 options now to narrow it down. Happy bed hunting!
  17. Ah yes! This is the one Seth's bike hacks recommends Then you know it's good https://youtu.be/abtncpYOpKM?t=376
