  1. Just joking.. On a other note. The commuter has now had a purgatory in GRiD version. 2.3 wide. It is light and very nice! Also, I had about 40km on a 2.25 trail boss (with a tube). Very nice too. Rolls much faster than the purgatory. I'm yet to push the tyre though... will give it some more time. It's heavy though. Note I used both tyres on the front.. but at different times. The Boss has short centre knobs and high side knobs.. probably why it rolls so well. Also nice under braking. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  2. Magic Mary can do everything needed for trail duty bud.. don't waist anymore money :-)
  3. Thanks.... Yes I was, then my dad said "just build me that frame up for me my boy!" And I was like... "dad I'm selling everything". So then said "don't sell anything anymore". Your buddy did approach me I think. But he backed down during he negotiation phase.. soo... [emoji4] [emoji12] Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  4. I do? I think I don't..... lol I would actually be very keen on swapping it for a similar valued 26inch air fork with straight steerer. My dad wants a bike, so building something for him. Was gonna use the on One.. but he is probably only going to use it to go around the block very now and then. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  5. Nope.. It was a 29er fork with an A-C of 470mm mos. Frame was designed around 498mm A-C. I'm not sure what the A-C of the new fork is (estimated it to be between 495mm to 505mm, by means of "visual" measurement. Also known as a "skat".) Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  6. Not 100% but it is rolling. Pic taken after my morning commute yesterday. Previous fork was too short (axle to crown) this one feels much better
  7. Okay.. but it is seated now and it's been around 80km later... so... I'm a bit lazy to take off.. New rubber=money. So gonna ride it for as long as I can. It's just so visually disturbing. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  8. Used the pump at fuel station...[emoji19] Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  9. Sorry to just drop in.. have a tyre question. My front tyre which is a purgatory (GRiD) on an Arch ex 29" rim, is running skew ...before I got the tyre to inflate, it exploded off the rim. the rim is perfectly true, but the tyre looks like it is "buckled" <<<for lack of a better way to explain.. How do I get it right?
  10. Anyone have: 1.) an unstretched 10 spd chain, pref sram 2.) 160mm front brake caliper adaptor? the side mount type.
  11. 1 X 10 >>34toothed absolute black Narrow wide ring, Shimano deore 170mm cranks.. cable housing under BB which is threaded 68mm spaced to 73mm. Oh.. and normal 11-36 slx cassette. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  12. Revolution cycles.... sorted me out plenty right now.. Thank you Stirling Jnr and Johno for the help!!!!!! Excellent service. axle (as frame Was not supplied with one. And do you know what the SRAM type thread one goes for?) new front hub (unknown to me) with a prrropper Bontrager QR. Build has a weird combo you see.. Front 9mm QR, and Rear 142x12mm TA rear. Plus... new double butted spokes to front wheel with new hub, truing of rear wheel.. And then he throws in tyres and tubes... Wait... Took my pigeon pair rotors and gave me Hayes front and back. What a Guy!! All for a minor fee.. So emotional right now.. >>sniff >>sniff Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  13. I'll try figuring it out.. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  14. I'll fix it up... Received it from Momsen like that.. also, I'm non the wiser..[emoji4] Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  15. Frame is currently sleeping in the car but here are some pics of the welds. Sorry for poor light. I like the sparkly glittery stuff in the paintwork. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  16. I.... Must.... Not... Break... The.... Bank!!! but its.... Broken... already!!! No Commuting km for the... week yet... eish!!!
  17. Did I mention: HA at 69deg, which is 2deg steeper than my trail bike and 2deg slacker than an inbred.. ST angle at 74deg and bike is designed around a 120 to 130mm travel with 34mm stanchion fork preferably...
  18. I just wanted to put it out there... I have never owned / ridden a steel frame before. However, I always wondered about one. A friend of mine has been on his for around 8years I think he mentioned, and has been riding it all this time with minimal changes. This inspired me, as I would too like something that would satisfy for such a lengthy period. He rides rigid too, and he knows how to ride! The welds... Well I can tell you that it looks very neatly done. (Compared to my trail bike, with welds I do like as well) The specs shows that the top Tube (TT) is 610mm, I measured 590mm may 595mm but nothing more than that. rear chainstay (CS) is 435mm, same as trail bike. So its short, I like!! Seattube (ST) sits at 435mm, which sits between an inbred 16" and 18". Im not a fan of the frames brake hose cable routing option. Looks like Momsen intended to run the hose under the TT and then down the seatstay (SS). Would've looked nice running the hose like how I have it now, and removing the frame hose bosses under the TT and SS. Dropper... in not gonna run one yet, but im definitely routing it under the downtube (DT) as well. The build: You guys are making me shy to post pics.. lol. it is a commuter, so my components are crappy. basically im just throwing on what I can find, and what I can afford at the moment. Just so by the way.. "Kaggel", "Brett" at Olympic cycles, SJ at Rev Cycles in town.. Thanks for helping me, may you guys be rewarded in abundance.
  19. I know right??? Who does that today. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  20. 142 X 12mm TA!! I like that too, pity no TA was given with the bike.. now I gotta scout. Sram maxle thread type needed[emoji33] [emoji33] Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  21. 68mm long is hole in frame. So I can space it to 73mm. Yes, it is threaded too. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  22. The one shop was keen to see the weight, I wasn't really. Think it was 4.0something kgs. That was with the carbon fork, stem and headset. Nothing else. So yes, I would assume the frame to be around the 3.4kg mark probably... its heavy compared to other steelies I think. Sent from my GT-I9190 using Tapatalk
  23. Hahaha!! I don't think I should post to this thread at all, looks like Popcorn Skollie has it covered.[emoji4]
