  1. So looking at the changes I don't see the max activity points. What is it? It seems like it is going to be a bit more difficultly to stay on gold this year. Maybe I should have taken my brokers advice and changed to Momentum.
  2. The meds would not necessarily be wrong, in fact they would probably have been correct. Just a WADA issue so no problem for the Doc as he is not ruled by WADA the athlete is.
  3. Cant seem to find the FB thread, link anyone?
  4. Blah blah fish paste. People thinking that getting bust for price fixing would result in a price drop are delusional. The fact is the only thing they are NOT allowed to do is agree on pricing. This does not mean that they have to drop their pricing, they could even increase it if they wanted and as long as the stupid consumer continues to pay no one else is going to drop their prices. So if you think about it we the consumer are allowing them to continue to "collude" in as far as there is no incentive to drop prices if you keep selling at the current price. As a side note, price fixing on non essential goods means nothing as soon as consumers vote with their wallets it all changes.
  5. You just scared of the Munga...... Just kidding.
  6. I have a solar geyser as well and found the savings to be more related to timer than solar, especially in winter in the Cape
  7. Get rid of your LG mobile and get a samsung. Or see if LG have a similar app that integrates with Disco.
  8. So how long does it take to get confirmation that you can collect your number board, Been waiting almost 2 months now. Who can I mail proof of payment to?
  9. That happens with augmentation after a while depending on the pose and the stress direction.
  10. From their website * Please note: The LiteSkin (or Performance) CX tires (700x33c) do not have the high pressure resistant bead, they are not suitable for tubeless conversions. I is confused, High pressure resistant bead. What does that mean? I ride tubeless at about 1.6 bar, that is not so high.
  11. @ Rouxenator, I smaak your sense of humor. Seems like most miss it.
  12. No reason not too, but this post is too late anyway. I did 2 x Epics on them and they were perfect, Ok not a racing snake but hell they are bullet proof. Edit: And they teach you skillz.....
  13. The issue is that you have to change the way you train. It is nothing to to do above 80% for 30 minutes, however if you are on a training plan that requires 3 - 4 hrs at below 70%, what then. Yes the easy way is to "manage" the training; in other words do 3 sessions, session 1. Warm up, stop the recording. Them do a quick 30 mins at above 80% then stop the recording. then do a 3rd session to complete the training. Yes it is doable, but a lot of PT and the moment you make it PT people will find other ways of cheating the system and then everyone looses. For me, at the moment, I strap my phone to my leg and bounce it for 1 to 2 hours to make sure I get my 10k steps in. At least I get 100 points per day that way, then I do my training and see where that gets me towards the end of the cycle and do a HIT workout for 30 -45 mins if need be. So, as I said, it is easy to make it work, but why. There is no benifit for Disco in this. Maar nou ja, as jy dom is moet jy ***.
  14. All good, but there are a few issues here. Two if which are biggies to most people. 1. To get to your 30k points max should not be an issue. 1.1 Do a few big races/events per year. 1.2 Go to gym, do 10k steps per day, do training at 75% + of Max HR 55 to 60% of the days in a year. 2. To get your smoothie or pay of your I watch etc. This is more of a challenge. I think this is where most are finding the issue. In a very short space of time you will either have to do 10k + steps per day and eventually you will have to do that and do serious hard training to get the 1200 weekly points they will eventually force you to get. Looks like about 50 points per week escalation if you are consistently hitting your targets. I know 1200 points per week was the previous max, not sure if it has come down since then. Not really an issue for me as I just cycle with my phone or strap it to my dog, shake it for 1.5 hrs and I get the 10k steps then I go and do 2 big short sessions per week and you are done. But this is not really what should be happening. Why do you have to make a plan to get the system to work as opposed to just training moderately 4 or 5 times a week.
  15. I only logged this as a back of the midfield rider. Day 1 - http://www.strava.com/activities/292201554?utm_content=482874&utm_medium=email&utm_source=ride_share Day 2 - http://www.strava.com/activities/292836606?utm_content=482874&utm_medium=email&utm_source=ride_share Day 3 - http://www.strava.com/activities/293499635?utm_content=482874&utm_medium=email&utm_source=ride_share Expect to average about 18 kph.
  16. It is not too much of the one or the other, but no free km's (in other words there is no where, well maybe 10 km per day, where you can rest. You are either going up slightly to very (depending on where you come from) technical climbs, negotiating river sand or river stones (OK rocks) and lekker single track 70%. There is NO, or very little, open Karoo to Coast highway.
  17. The route is awesome, but challenging, especially if very dry. This is where they farm with rocks and sand. Get your skills on. Edit. There are NO free km's on this ride. Day 2 is well worth it!
  18. Well at least I could still do a 6:13-15 DC TT after being dropped by my team with those numbers.
  19. 100.2 kg and FTP 230
  20. Donder I have always been around 2.2 to 2.6 W/kg to get to 4.4 W/kg Eina! At best I can drop my weight by 17%, but that wont give me 100% power to weight increase.
  21. Damn I don't want to know what my current FTP is. I struggle to do 200W at the moment and have gained about 8 kg. I also see my CTL has dropped from almost 100 to 42. Must say my freshness is way high at the moment . Long way back for me I fear.
  22. Different start also plays a part. If you start a batch down you will always be going slower so in the past where you started had a huge impact. Now not so much as they tend to stay together for longer and then when the master come by things hot up. Gonna be fun to watch this develop. The Epic is long, very long at the pointy end.
  23. OK so they saw that most of the proper device do have an internal ID and now linking directly Vitality gives them the control. Donder why did they not just do this in the first place. It is still not going to address the issue of putting the device on your dog WTF. Wonder how the HR strap work and stays there?
  24. I thought Garmin Connect was no more, only Garmin Express was working.
