  1. What I have been saying for a few weeks already, Lockdown only applies to the leafy suburbs and businesses that stand to loose a lot if they open. Damn go to the poorer 'burbs (Formerly poor white, colour, mixed race, black) and see everyone doing as they please sans masks etc. Lockdown is a joke. most people serving you in the supermarkets are not living in an environment that is conducive to lockdown so you are always at risk.
  2. However, you only get a criminal record if you pay the admission of guilt fine or are sentenced in court. you are free to be arrested, charged and get out on bail pending the court case (I would recommend this, though not a legal opinion just common sense). As indicated before I see blanket amnesty coming. BUT if you have paid an admission of guilt fine the record will stick, unless you go to court to get it expunged.
  3. Yes as long as you stay in the suburburbs no one is going to stop you and ask where you come from.
  4. I heard that we only have 1 x C130 that is functional. Is this true?
  5. How long do you want people to stay at home? You realise the lockdown is to prepare the the hospitals for the inevitable. The majority of us are going to contract the virus until a vax is found so we are in lockdown until medical facilities are ready and in the meantime the spread is being reduced. However at some point we are going to L2/L1 and then infections will skyrocket. It is not IF, but rather WHEN.
  6. A sock works very well. Cut the Heel part to fit. Or go the whole hog and follow Suzell as introduced by Allan Windie
  7. Have you been out and about? If so you will know that it is only a lockdown in the leafy suburbs. Nowhere else.
  8. I used to have a lot of fun at Cave Rock.
  9. From what I can see I would say 70+% of the populace is not adhering to L$ so rather drop it and save face. Also it is apparently a breeze to get a permit now so what is the point?
  10. Unless it is on, then it is very on. Yes not often, but still. Also enjoyed Mossel Bay point and Die Bakke when things get huge. Also used to wait in anticipation for crayfish factory in Cape Town to get over 10 foot.
  11. You also never tried to paddle inside of him at the point. It was just not the done thing. He took the waves he wanted period. Also a bit difficult to argue with him.
  12. Mike Fourie, Craig Seal and the Macleod's would give him a serous run for his money. Unless you are talking about after we all retired.
  13. Oi, they are now called waveski riders. It is just our manne that were called paddleskiers. But in the cape we were called boatmen.
  14. Cool I presume you are a lightweight and enjoy lots of float.
  15. Thanks dude. I get it. But really, I would rather get the virus now while the hospitals are empty than in 6 to 9 months time. Remember at least 70% of us ARE gong to get the virus. The lockdown is not to stop it just slow it.
  16. But they have huge float and break quite easily. Sh!tmano at least know how to make Fishing reels, Cranks and Pedals. Other bike components I am not sold on just yet.
  17. Also check shoe wear where the pedal meets the shoe. Over time the cleat wears as well as the shoe surface. This results in a lot of vertical play in the cleat which no amount of tension will solve. Tension only adjusts the release pressure not the "looseness" of the cleat pedal interface. New cleats work ,or fit the shoe is worn use the cleat plates between the shoe and the cleat.
  18. To be honest, if I am riding on my own, i see no reason to wear a mask. Strange thing is during the serious lockdown and on the few occasions I was fortunate enough to get called out to a site, wearing a mask was not a requirement. Now it is? Yes I understand it is primarily to protect others, but let's face it if a tree falls in the woods and you are not there does it make a noise? Same thing with riding on your own with no one around is it needed?
  19. This is the official certificate that is issued, it is the followup on the original certificate that was issued for the 1st lockdown. This is the last legitimate certificate. The only contention could be if they were registered under Business Category X but are trading as Y.
  20. The it's only flu scenario could work if lockdown is lifted soon. However if the latest numbers are an indication lockdown will continue through May. If this happens I think all bets are off. I have been speaking to a number of SMe/SMME's that are in a similar position to myself and things will be significantly bleaker if the lockdown extends.
  21. I am sitting on the sidelines here and probably missed a lot. But do you believe there will be a significant spike in non essentials (except tobacco and liquor)? There are issues regarding disposable income and the fact that the lift will definitely be a soft lift with travel restrictions etc. This is also going to add to reduced spend available. Or am I wrong here?
  22. How do you perceive bob on a hardtail? Asking for a friend. Bob normally refers to the rear suspension, but I may be wrong.
  23. I just us engine cleaner all over. finished.
  24. The only question to ask is how often you will be turning the 48/11 fast/hard enough. Damn on gravel you will need a biiig engine to keep that running. Even when sitting in the bunch it will not be often that you would ever need that. Damn even argus time it will only be on the blue route decent that you will spin out. People often overestimate what gear they can turn. If you are in the 34/11 then maybe...
