  1. I was a Cub at the time - we used to camp over from Friday night, selling programs and "collecting" all the stickers from them. Remember the big red oval STP sticker
  2. Looks like he is just about to pick them up like bowling balls
  3. isn't she that pole dancer vaulter chick
  4. Hey TW, new job as programmer for DSTV?
  5. dats da won i were talking aboot - 4 ways
  6. 40th birthday prezzie from the missus back in 2000. Cant remember the exact figures but if I remember correctly you hit terminal velocity in 9 s and then slow to a stop in 2 s. the second (rebound) drop is as high as the Vic Falls jump
  7. How many did you see toppling over on Chappies during Argus. Feet still in the pedals, just not enough forward momentum to keep the bike u p r i g h t
  8. Popped into SW yesterday afternoon and jokingly grumbled at the floor manager that they were moving things around AGAIN and that I could never find the damn Falk Socks. He explained the moving was due to them opening up an area and would be starting a separate shop, selling only bikes. They have Trek and Merida, as well as their old faithful Mongeeseesssesgoosesssees and the avalanche stuff. The Trek Rumblefish looked a helluva nice entry DS 29er
  9. I'm a vegetarian - I just like my veg processed by a cow first!
  10. Get on the chat line with them. My son broke his screen. As a registered kindle user, they not only sold me the 139$ option for 65$ as a replacement, they also waived the 30$ shipping AND sent me a prepaid return label so I could ship the old one back. UPS picked it up from my office for free. Ordered the Thursday, arrived the next Monday morning. Total cost for 1 x new kindle keyboard - R618.00 There is, in my opinion no better service.
  11. Nespresso machines pump at 19 bar - probably 7 or 8 bar MORE than most machines (and 15 bar more than the mellerware/russel hobbs machines). A barista will tell you that the pressure is an integral part of the cup, allowing a richer, thicker crema and a fuller flavour to the coffee
  12. Who cares about being tied into pods when you have a selection like this: http://www.nespresso.com/#/za/en/coffee_nespresso/grands_crus they also have limited edition specials like Vanilla, chocolate berry.
  13. My Nespresso machine is, after my bike, my favourite toy. Go to Sandton City if you are in GP. They have a boutique store there where you can try all the different blends in any configuration (espresso, lungo, cappucino). They also have all the machines. Start at about 1400 and go up to abnout 3500 with a "foamer". Costing is about 5.00 - 6.50 a cup for the pods. AWESOME!!!
  14. To quote a wise sage : "It's far worse. All this crap does is indoctrinate kids to the idea that there is a pill or a potion to help them achieve. The next step? Doping to get to Craven Week. Head butting the ref. Awesome. Like I said. I'm equally shocked and disgusted." Doesn't really matter what the hell is in it! I think that it is irresponsible and just short of criminal to market something like this to kids. I have seen schoolboys, in uniform, walking out of Dischem with BUCKETS of protein and bottles of USN supplements. We are putting a lot of pressure on our Kids to achieve but surely, as a parent there is enough savvy to know what harm mentally and physically something like this can do??
  15. My Suzi trumps your Merc!
  16. Supplements for children and school kids
  17. It appears that the jury is in. Run, Mannetjie, while you still can!
  18. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/114613-medals-with-a-message/page__fromsearch__1 If you are in JHB I will act as a central collection point. Get them to me, I will get them to Rudi.
  19. Dear Northern Farm, Do you know what I like best about my visits? No, it's not the fact that its wildly popular and really busy at the moment, (I do like that though), it's not the fact that I will never be the slowest, the fattest, the least skilled, the unfittest or the worst dressed. It not the trails and the single track. Its not the dams in the early morning mist, with a goliath heron tiptoeing through the plants on the water's edge or the fish eagles calling or even the rare but exhilarating sight of the resident hippo. (I do really like that though). It's not that! Its also not the fact that I know the place so well it feels like home and I look forward to every ride. Not even the fantastic birdlife is the favourite part of my ride. Nor are the cute lady buns in tight Lycra that I sometimes find myself following, even though I could pass them. My favourite part is the egg and bacon roll and a cold Amstel at the end. AND NOW YOU DONT SERVE BEER SIncerely
  20. Shouldn't have left me in the car
