  1. Would you consider hiring out the gun?
  2. Wasn't the excitement - its the bigger wheels!
  3. Fissan - paste pre ride and cream post ride. All you need and more!
  4. Where in JHB did you get the bicarb blasting done?
  5. I stuck a thickish dowel rod between the upper seat stays, behind the saddle, and fixed it with cable ties just below saddle height and at the bottom between the chain stays. There is usually a little plate there with a hole in it (for a stand?). Put a tennis ball over the top of the dowel to protect your hand, and you can walk behind them, and hold them upright. Took about three days.Kiddie didn't even realise I had let go until she was on the other side of the complex, still chatting to me! Used it with my littlies with equal success although my girl learned a bit quicker.
  6. I would want my most powerful braking to be in my most powerful hand. Right hand - front brake.
  7. Think I have said this before but, If I was a retailer involved in the cycling industry, I would be monitoring the Hub for potential gripes all the time. Quick intervention goes a long way to resolving an issue
  8. Set of SLX brakes for me from me
  9. They not really status kinda forks. Just for the sake of completeness and cos I have a new frame and my old decals look a bit tatty
  10. Thanx!
  11. Where can I get a new set of decals?
  12. What BM said. Run it under a warm tap until the electrode patches are soaking before you put it on. Cold water can give you a bit of a breathless moment, specially in winter. Also wash the electrode patches with a bit of warm water and hand soap after every ride. And don't leave the transmitter connected.
  13. Roadie by any chance?
  14. Or, if she wears it on her back, it must be upside down!
  15. Have a look at: Numetrex and Polar
  16. Hey Matt, just a very friendly, no harm meant, please don't ban me type of reminder/question. What is happening re mods. I just see a need for them at the mo. Things are going a bit awry.
  17. Report back - after lotsa soap and a new rimstrip, and re pumping to about 4.8 bar, there was a helluva load "pop" as the tyre seated itself properly. Let the pressure back down to 2.8 and ... no more wobble. Thanks Guys for your help.
  18. That being said, are there any mods on the forum? If so, who so? If not, when did it change? Did I miss an announcement?
  19. Thanks to all. I now have a new Bontrager rimstrip and a bottle of dishwashing liquid. Zat tyre vil go on ja?
  20. Don't think so! Had a similar problem with a Bontrager Jones tyre, eventually did enough damage to the area above the bead that the tyre blew at the bead..... so I bought a Conti Race King.......
  21. Cool! Will try this arvie - Thanks Bud!
  22. Some advice please! I run a Conti Race King 2.2 29 inch on a bontrager rythm rim. Despite numerous attempts, I cannot get the tyre to seat properly. It seems as if the bead gets a bit stuck in the spoke bed and won't hook under the lip as it is supposed to. I have tried: Pumping to about 6 bar, in the hope that it "pops" into place Using a CO2 bomb for a really quick inflation Turning the rimstrip around as it seems to run off to one side a bit and had taken on the shape of the spokebed tyre on and off the rim at least 10 times Unfortunately, apart from a really bumpy ride at 40 kph on the tar, it has damaged the tyre a bit just above the bead. Am I doing something wrong, or is there an obvious solution that I am missing?
  23. I just got a Cane creek headset that came with the adaptor. Think it was ZS - 3 but can check at home tonight
  24. Does anybody have any experience with transfil gear cables?
