  1. Testosterone is an anabolic steroid Gen. (I agree with the gist of what you are saying. Sorry to nit peck.)
  2. FISA (international rowing body) also had a rule that you got a life time ban for your first offence. They have since reduced this to fall inline with WADA rules.
  3. Again you have oversimplified a complicated system by focusing on only one area of it. Yes I read "The Secret Race". Did you miss the bit about all the trips to dirty doctors, private jets to get to labs to safely extract blood, experiments with sRBCs, and the most disgusting: the backroom politics to get positive test squashed?
  4. It's not just about getting hold of the epo. Unless you want to die in your sleep, you need the equipment for doing hematocrit tests, and the knowledge on how to do the test, or a doctor to do it for you.
  5. For a fatty like me, you can't compare. I always have much faster times on flater courses (going on index of wining time.)
  6. Out of curiosity: can someone explain the technicalities between the difference between DG and KE's sentence lengths? I would have thought that EPO positive would've been the same as a biological passport irregularity.

  8. Sigh - Are we back to this old tired argument?
  9. The guards just let him out on weekends.
  10. Maybe I missed it. Which ex-dopers are being regarded as heroes?
  11. @DieselnDust : I just want to say one more thing and then I'm out of here. I don't wish bad on KE. I've never meet him, but I'm sure he is a lekker guy. I can see how life is very tough for professionals. He has flaws, but so do I. I know first hand how remedial cycling is, and I hope he has many more km to ride and enjoy, but just not at races.
  12. More ad hominem attacks and straw man arguments... Instead of just saying my logic is wrong, why not tell me where my logic is wrong. I have no issue entering the Epic as they very strong anti doping rules. KE will never ride the Epic again, thanks to their life time ban on any riders with a sanction. I have no issue entering the CTCT. They also have anti doping rules.
  13. Ok, Putting your ad hominem attack aside. ( Did you know that an ad hominem attack is considered a logical fallacy? ) You keep calling K2C a "fun ride". But it's not called that anywhere on their website or facebook page. By there own description, it's a race. It doesn't matter if there is prize money for millions or not. It's still a race. Now regardless of whether they follow CSA rules or have CSA sanctioning. It's probably a good thing for them to have anti doping rules. The don't. By not having any doping rules, and by having a rider serving a SAIDS ban compete, they are implicitly saying they have no problem with people doping. You might say what's the problem with that? The problem is that it spoils the fun of the race for others. People want to do well in races, wether they are doing it for fun or as a professional. And if you are racing against dopers, you get put in this horrible position on whether to dope your self, or just quit. Bottom line is: doping is allowed in K2C. I won't ride in any races where doping is allowed. If you want to ride in races where doping is allowed, aka "fun rides", go ahead. It's your life.
  14. Wow. What you are say is that it perfectly ok to cheat and lie.
  15. No one is disputing that non sanctioned races can allow dopers to ride in there events if they so choose. What we're saying is they are ass hats for choosing to do so.
  16. Ok, whatever Kevin.
  17. Yes, the organisers have the right to allow him to ride, just like the rest of the cycling population has a right to boycott the event in future. Why you defending KE and the race organisers so much dude?
  18. Kevin Evans recently raced "road" in K2C and Dr. Evil Classic. He has a 4 year ban that lasts till 3 March 2019 See here for details on his ban: https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/mtb/sa-mtb/kevin-evans-accepts-doping-charge-r3991
  19. Kanstantsin Sivtsov - Grand Tour GC top 10 and stage winner. Interestingly ex Barloworld.
  20. Hate to break it to you, but the ice rink is slippery even when not wet....
  21. Wrong thread Patch.
  22. Just thought I had, and I don't know if it's crap or not, so if you think it's crap, please show me where my logic is wrong. She only came 2nd at TOGH, and 6th at the Epic, while using EPO. So either she was a average rider pre doping, or the others that beat her are also doping? I know 2nd and 6th are very impressive results, something I could never achieve, but she was still beaten.

  24. The athlete (and hence probably the coach to) would have know long ago. Possible scenarios: The coach didn't know about the doping, and decided to distance himself when he found out about it.The coach knew about the doping, and decided to distance himself when he knew a positive test result was on it's way.
