Eish, when I think back to remember if I saw you, it's all just a blur. I had a Northcliff cycles jersey on, black with a wide white strip across it. Black BMC.

If you asked be before the race if I were to be dropped, where would it happen, I would have said on the hills from 28km - 32km. So I was shocked when I got dropped at 20km. Thinking about it afterwards, I was on the wind side of the bunch, which probably was the straw the broke the camels back. My bad for not picking up on the wind there. I was able to revive my pride later in the race at about 61km when the front of the BL's, who had caught us earlier, attacked in a cross wind. I managed to make it into the echelon. After the obligatory turn at the front, I looked back, and the 60 man group was whittled down to 10, with the rest of the group far back. Finished in 3:16:52. I'm disappointed in getting a 25% index, but I guess it's not to bad given the conditions.

Yes, Race 4 Victory specifically state that they are a seeding event for the 94.7. Racetec timed road races close to Joburg before this date are: * Lost City (this weekend. You will need to do a late entry.) * D2D - 7 September * Race 4 Victory - 21 September

Should also be mentioned that there are some races that are not timed by racetec who make arrangements for their results to be used, e.g. Carnival City, but I don't think there are any of these left this year.

So I was exaggerating a bit when I said "nearly had a head on". I did see him ahead of time, and I exited the line when we got close.

Question about the tree line at Emmarantia that starts at the top dam wall and finishes near the Orange rd entrance (map): is there a stipulated direction on this tree line? I was riding it in a north-east direction and nearly had a head on with someone comming up it in the south west direction.

Thats do-able, You just have to avg 20km/h. I did a 400k last year december in 20hrs. That leaves 4hrs to do another 100. Who's game?

Because I use Google street view images, the route has to follow roads where there is street view coverage. This unfortunately excludes most MTB races. I'm working on one for the new 94.7 route. I may take a little while because I'm doing some new stuff to make the video a better quality.
