Yes, Your result time will be gun to mat. And with 94.7 the groups are larger than most events, so in my opinion, there is a real advantage to getting to the start early so that you can start near the front of the group.

From http://www.cyclechallenge.co.za/TermsandConditions 5 year ban. They seem to take this very seriously! As far as I know, if requested, they do consider MTB race results.

They don't but it's against the rules for reasons mentioned above.
  4. Guys. Please pay attention to the date before getting all hot and bothered. Now I'm going to ignore what I just said, and point out to all the Capetonians worried about their Arugust race: Suikerbossie: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Suikerbossie+Restaurant/@-34.0077748,18.3115656,12.25z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x1dcc68b8d27c70a5:0x8c8fad26b9c517ce Suikerbosrand: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Suikerbosrand+Nature+Reserve/@-26.3723086,28.1971092,11z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x1e94e1265b4e49fd:0xf5527316ffbd028f
  5. I never know if you guys are serious, or if you are being sarcastic. I hope the latter.
  6. Nope. If I had, I would be making an argument from authority, which is a logical fallacy.
  7. This video oversimplifies things IMHO. For a more detailed explanation of the best understanding of the physics of bicycle balance, watch this:
  8. Not sure, but even if it is accessible, it's probably advisable to stay away. Same for other events, like Walk the Talk.
  9. Guys! Big picture! Cape Epic entrance fee: R59 600 / 8 stages = R 7 450 per stage. So the cost of JUMA is 18% the price of a epic stage.

Old, but still one of my fav: I love using snippets from that inserting them into technical conversations, and getting very confused or concerned looks. e.g. "Using `systemd-nspawn` gives use the power we need to crush those who oppose us." Also the "it's just so easy, so simple. I don't know why everyone doesn't [sOME VERY COMPLEX TECHNICAL TASK]" is a running joke in the office.
  13. Hi. This may be interesting to those here: http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/city-centre/old-type-racing-bike/1001338236450910441502109
  14. In Joburg, A large percentage of my riding is in the dry, compared to what it would be if I say lived in the UK. Also, I don't have all carbon wheels, so I don't have that issue when I do get caught in the rain. Serious question: is the mass you save by using a all carbon rim vs a carbon/aluminum, or an all aluminum rim more than the additional mass of a disk brake vs rim brake? (Yes I know that the rim mass is rotating, but that only makes a difference to the difference in required energy when accelerating)
  15. Still not convinced this is a good idea for road bikes, especially with our climate. I'll stick with rim brakes thanks.
  16. I'm sure that he did train long hard. 3 of the 4 PED's mentioned in the finding do nothing if you take the and do no training. Rather, they help speed recovery, allowing you to train harder, and making the training more effective.
  17. Yip, and by waiving his right to a hearing, he basically admitted he was guilty.
  18. If you take a look at all the "Adverse Analytical Finding" releaes here on the CSA site, they all mention names. The only one which does not is this: www.cyclingsa.com/anti-doping-press/2014/9/28/testing-results-suspicious-for-epo-doping where they had a whole bunch of suspicious but inconclusive results.
  19. The amazing thing about Dale/Huez is he always has something good or positive to say!. Kudos!
  20. Will this be a mass participation event, or a licensed riders only event?
  21. I think it was excellent to have Vos here, and for her to race. I'm only sad that Ashliegh could not give her a harder time.
  22. Ja, but the title is so bad, other people are unlikely to find it. Mods: please merge and change to a better title.
  23. Btw, that's an awesome picture!
  24. I have the same issue. I have done the adjustment so many times, I know exactly how much I need to turn the barrel by, so it is really quick to do. I have set my stops so that they accommodate both sets. I.E. the low stop is set for the race wheel (which is further out than needed for the training wheel) and the high stop is set for the training wheel (which is further out than needed for the race wheel.)

Not sure from your post. Are you saying you had a cramp? In what muscle? If this is the case, there are many different cause of cramp (and often multiple working in combination.) Here is some good info: http://www.thehubsa....w-ive-read-yet/ Yip, especially in a cross wind with a group that does not form an echelon, or if you are in the gutter. In this case, you may as well be riding on you own.
