    Weird... Both times were for the Marathon, although also got a 100 seeding for Hazeldene Trailseeker 1 and 100 seeding index for the USN Cup event 3????

    I hope my seeding index is wrong? I did 2h12 at Trailseeker 1 in 'J' batch and then 2h22 at Trailseeker 2 from 'C' batch... now my seeding index is at 80 something... Hope I still start in the C's for Van Gaarlens?

    I don't think that ANY goal is ever unrealistic... Read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and have a think about all the normal people who have achieved the 'unrealistic' dreams and goals that they set?

    Hey SpiderKZN, I'm also a newbie on the MTB (6 months) and have found that a gym workout a couple of times a week (crosstraining, spinning, circuits etc.) has worked wonders for my overall strength and fitness. As mentioned, nothing is better than time on the bike but you definitely wont hurt yourself doing the gym training. Best of luck, its awesome to set goals... Enjoy the trails of KZN

    A fine being a 'debatable remuneration payment'? Surely not?

    The idea as said, is him not being able to afford the fine? If 'rules' stipulate that 'fines' as well as a ban are applicable in doping, then surely a plan must be made? If I cant afford to pay bond, car repayments etc. what happens to my house & car? I just tell the bank that I cant afford them and they let me keep them but just pay whatever I can?

    Okay, seems my post regarding entry to Epic & S2C were offsides? If the OP is banned for 2 years, sell the bike/bikes to pay the 'fine'?

    Is the 26er, baggies wearing, flats & 5Tens, 'real' MTBiker thing the new Hipster way to go? I've seen a couple Spruit locals on full suss bikes, matching baggies & MX style tops , flats & 5Tens looking like they are about to complete in the Downhill World's.... Oh wait, there are some HECTIC downhill, tech sections on the Spruit

    good for you... being new to the cycling world, I am amazed what being on a bike can do for you (well active in any way really)... Health, motivation, mood, making friends, outdoors, the list is really endless

    Each to his/her own I'd say... for me personally I rode flat pedals that came with my bike and Nike running shoes for the 1st 3 months and then moved to SPD's and proper Mtb shoes once I had a bit of a feel for the bike and how to handle things a bit better? Although I still get a bit sketchy through certain tech and tight sections I would NEVER go back to flats for the positives to my climbing alone? Surely there is a big difference to power output with pull/push (clipped) vs push/push (non clipped)???? Oh and I haven't seen any serious road riders riding without clips for a while

    Last race I seeded in J batch for the 40km - did 2h10min and now I'm in batch C, I LOVE YOU SA SEEDING Think its fair enough?

    Does anyone know of any MTB trails in and around Bazley on the KZN south coast or if anyone is going to be down there between Fri 21st June & Sun 30th June and would be keen to join me for a ride or two?

    My 2c... No point getting upset with unrealistic prices that people are asking for, go in with what you believe is fair for the product, make an offer, if the person wants cash then its done or leave a msg stating that the offer is open ended and if they haven't sold the goods in x amount of time then they should contact you?
