  1. Hi Kimma We just received the 2013 Super Six 3 at CWC, what size are you after? PM me!
  2. No, your km's you did in 2012 will be subtracted from 0 - you will start with a negative number and work your way out!

    Argus vs 99er

Great to hear! Then you will probably know that I am not such a big fan of Garmin Disconnect. Not that there is anything wrong with it but it is just too basic for my needs. If you are a weekend warrior and want to see the little map of where you have cycled with the little graphs of your HR, Cadence and elevation profile ... very basic ... then it is fine. If you want to customize you data, analyze it properly, change things the way you like and do stuff you wouldn’t even think was possible ... then rather invest in 3rd party software that has all that potential and more ... like SportTracks Yes I am still an ambassador for SportTracks ... pretty freekin awesome that they contacted me after all my boasting about their cool software here on the hub! Shot guys!
  4. Our riding average is probably closer to 37km/h keeping all that in mind. (its a flat route!!) Nope, we dont go down old oak or past Andrag, we have a little detour down Bill Bezuidenhout, Strand Street through Kuilsriver. If you can get the coffee man to be here at 7:30, I'm sure we can make a plan! On the other hand, a coffee connoisseur like yourself would probably be able to whip up a couple of espressos & creamy cappuccino’s!

    Argus vs 99er

SportTracks 3 ... baby! (Worth every penny of the $35!!) I have over 6 years of training data in this program and it kicks ass! If you are really analytical about your data and serious about your training, this is the program for you! I first got hooked because of the Equipment tracking function. I can tell you exactly how many km's, hours, rides I have done on my race bike, training bike, mtb, SS ... how many km's I have on my chainrings, cassettes, chains, tubbies, wheelsets ... etc. Overlay data and analyze just about any piece of information you can think of. If there is something you think of and you can’t find a plug-in, just ask one of the developers and they will write you something ... its open source. Link photos, join/spilt routes, customize just about any piece of data you can think of. There is much more to the program ... do a search, I’ve chatted about it plenty on here.
  6. Looking forward to meeting you, join us for a ride, pop in for a coffee at our coffee shop and we will have a chat and sort you Garmin out onetime!
  7. We average around 31km/h and sometimes a bit faster when into the wind!
  8. Awesome riding weather and great attendance again this week ... see you guys and gals again next week!

    Argus vs 99er

Elevation profiles Blue = 99er Red = Argus HR profiles Blue = 99er Red = Argus Looks like the Argus was harder!
  11. I took a while to set them up properly but once dialed in it works great and you can clearly feel the difference between the 3 settings. Did not set them up according to some pressure guide either, worked purely on sag and that felt much more accurate!
  12. People always confuse themselves with the word "license" The R75 you pay is for yearly membership and you do not need to belong to a club for this yearly membership Race "License" is needed when riding UCI sanctioned events or Nationals or Provincials - R350 (You dont need a Race "License" when joining Pansy during his k@kpraat ride or if you are part of the PPA alphabet soup) You must first be a member of CSA before you can apply for a Race License. The confusion comes in with .... "Day License" ... they should have just called it Day Membership or something else! Edit: Added info about Pansy's ride
  13. Yes, I see it is so ineffective that this is now the second time you are referring back to it! Lets get on thing straight ... I part with my knowledge and experience on these units (been riding with Garmin units for over 7 years now) free of charge so that people can better understand, appreciate and value the product. If you cant appreciate that ... you can suck my chain. Im over this fred now.
  14. ok ... sorry ...
  15. Yes, tjop. As I said, (read it again if you didnt understand the first time) I explain the different functions and customize the display to the customers liking, in other words I ask them what they would like to see, no predictions needed but some options are pretty standard/logical. Again, I said I link the HR belt ... if you want to setup HR as a % or Max, it is pretty easy, pick from the list! If you know your max HR, then great, if you dont, find out. Yes plenty, I use if often on Killarney but then I use Auto Lap by start position. The units are set with Auto lap on every 8km sometimes even 1km by default (odd number anyway) ... that is just irritating to have the Lap beep ever so often when you are not busy doing Lap races or crits.
  16. You dont have any shifters on your BMX do you? Yes the 10 speed shifters will work no matter what cassette you have on at the back but your shifting wont be smooth and your chain will be jumping around looking for the missing gear if you dont have the same speed cassette than shifters. Shift increments differ between 7/8/9/10/11 speed shifters Come now
  17. Hermanus ... connections my bru ... connections!
  18. Lekka ride again this morning ... see you guys and gals next week ... have a safe and fast burger! If this is your first Die Burger, this is how not to wear your helmut!
  19. We do ... during the mud season (winter time in CT) and yes it is extremely popular! Its roadie season now, with the Funride World Championship just around the corner. Everybody say whoooopla ... its August time!
  20. What the problem is? Can your bike not ride 20 kilometerkies to a training ride?
  21. Awesome ride this morning ... thanks guys and gal! See you again in the morning! 5:30am from the shop!
  22. Not true, the night rides on Meerendal and Hillcrest are not for Tygerberg members only! Anyone can join, just pay your R30 and off you go. You are not allowed on night rides on the trails unless it is a organised Tygerberg club ride, in other words with the Tygerberg club members!
  23. Got to give some credit to the organizers on a job well done! This format without support vehicles in the first 100km worked extremely well. Previous years we had to battle through way too much traffic, support vehicles and slower riders on Tredouw's pass and Op Tredouws. This format it was much easier and much safer. The seeding for the starting order might also have improved which would have played a roll. Maybe I am imagining things but it felt like we had much less traffic (other teams) to pass in the first section of the race. (they might have been standing still in the wind or I was sucking wheel so hard I didn’t notice anything else, I'm not sure which? ) The 30min stop in Ashton also worked out pretty well! I think we were all a bit skeptic at first but on the day ... what a welcome relief. It was nice knowing that time was standing still and you could truly relax for a bit. Other years its chuck your bottles down and go! My vote is to keep this 30min stop in, its not like we were forced to stop the whole 30min. Nice one! Truly glad that we did not have to walk the portage area, that would have been a bummer to do a 202km bike race with 300m of walking, it is not the Epic you know! In the end our team ended on 6:07 with a 19th place, not too shabby considering a crappy winter and a dislocated a shoulder 4 weeks prior to the event during a moerse crash. Hanged on for as long as I could and was happy to see the final six GO with less than 10km ... trying to stick close enough just in case another number 6 was needed, finished 2min behind the boys .. finished ... all and all ... a good hard days work! Well done to all!
