  1. Look good, shot Brad! Do you have any topcap bolts?
  2. I smile the whole time while on this baby, especially in the mud! On my geared bike I wanna cry in the mud when I start thinking about what its gonna cost after the race to replace the drivetrain
  3. If it is a mud (read fun) fest like last year, I am bringing out the SS for sure!
  4. The second hand market is just not there for high end components. We all like to think our bikes are worth millions, well they are when you have to replace them. But there is quite a difference between replacement value and second hand value. I have just been through the process of selling a top top end Santa Cruz Full Carbon 29er with carbon lefty with top end specs valued at R75k for ... R35k And that was in the MTB market, which is 8 to 10 times bigger than the roadie market. Plus naainers are in such high demand in the 2nd hand market it is not even funny. If you are a buyer is the second hand market for R30k - R40, there are some very decent new bikes available at that price and that is what you compete against as a seller. For sure the buyer will pick up a great bike valued at a lot more in this bracket but the seller needs to cut his losses and move on to his new bike. If you are a buyer in the second hand market above R50k+ you need to have your head checked because I can build you your dream bike ... new! And these buyers normally have enough cash to splash bit more to get that dream bike they are after.
  5. Dont do it. Large will be too big and there is no stem short enough. You are wasting your time and money! Not disagreeing with what the Captain is trying to say above ... You can Make someone fit on a bike but you can make a bike fit someone (unless you own the factory)
  6. William Keith of Williams Bike shop, no doubt You have to have some crazy obsession/passion for wheel building and I would have referred you to him even waaaay before he got this: William builds solid hoops!
  7. Not sure what deffo means in your part of the world but if it means definitely not ... then I agree. Smallblock8 is the k@kest tire you can put on the front. Put it on the front as a slick when you are doing the Funride World Champs on your naainer. Seriously though ... how many tire freds are there on the hub now? Best all rounder Racing Ralph Snakeskin front and rear. Most durable and longest lasting Maxxis Ardent front, Crossmark rear
  8. Why do you want to use it? GPS!! Does all that for you! Remove that speed magnet immediately and only use when on the IDT
  9. You are not going to get close to what you paid R30k - if you want to sell it today R35k - Still a great deal R40k - if you not in a rush ... but then you are competing against new bikes with Di2 Ultegra. Not as well specked as yours but the option is there then.
  10. There are problems with Version 3.2 They added some "Support" crap to "help identify" units. It only makes your unit slow and takes forever to startup. To locate satellites with the new version also takes much longer. I normally switch the unit on when leaving the garage, by the time I get to the front gate, its locked, loaded and ready to go. With version 3.2, I was almost 3 blocks away before it located the satellites. Tried it for a week then decided ... screw it, roll back to V 3.0!
  11. Looks like my thread disappeared with the last glitch .... I am not upgrading to Version 3.2 Tried it and it was a farkup ... rolled back to Version 3 because it works and doesnt need to be fixed!
  12. Here you go ... Inked on the back of bike shop owner William Keith. Will and Nico Van Zyl have some serious street cred as the completed the Epic with just 1 F*&king Gear!
  13. 1 F*&king Gear
  14. Try mixing the black sludge and stans next time
  15. Yup, those mother truckers put me in hospital for 3 days on that exact spot!! Blixemed the daylights out of me with a lekka stuk plank!
  16. When you get tired of freewheeling downhill ... I can send you the Epic files
  17. Some people classify going through Majic forest as downhill
  18. Excluding the two frames I am currently building? Hang on let me count ... Ok .... ok ... one of those is not mine, the Flash 1 belongs to SupremeLady
  19. I remember the headline news not to long ago when some Stellenbosch students shot passers by using pelet guns ... some idiotic habits die hard it seems
  20. You need to be a CSA member or buy a day licsense to compete in either. If you are not a PPA member you will start with the open groups at the back
  21. I didnt win the lottery ... but SupremeLady did!! Off to bootcamp we go! We will be riding for a charity as a mixed team. Anyone that didnt or did get in, is willing or able to assist, contribute, sponsor, donate or support ... all greatly welcome. Remember, donations is tax deductable!
  22. That is your problem right there. The GoPro mounts suck. That piece you need to make the camera face in the right direction, lifts the camera too far from the mount causing instability and it will shake all about. One word, or is it two? K-Edge! Much more stable, no need for an extra piece to make the camera face in the right direction. Even the GoPro team used K-Edge mounts at events where they have riders using their cameras. Just dont over tighten the bolt right underneath the camera, so the camera can still move when you accidentally smash it into the ground. I can understand why helmet mounted cameras are banned. If you are in a crash and pulling the "tuck and roll" maneuver, the camera can stop you from rolling over, snapping your neck in the process.
  23. There is also the Lightweigt Ventoux - Front wheel 437g
  24. 110kg but only 100kg for the Meilenstein
