  1. Also attempted to ride it today. It is in really in a bad shape and dangerous. I hope they will fix it but, it is going to require alot of work and filling
  2. In all my years of riding the Spruit (actively the last 15 years) it always looks its worse in the first week of January. Because of all the rain and holidays the Spruit fairies and City parks can not keep up with maintenace and cleaning. This year even more so. Because the park is off limits due to ockdown, so I doubt any work will be done until it is legally open again. Thanks to the work of Jozi Trials building specific single track for mtb and walkers there are way more distance between walkers and bikes than what there ever has been.
  3. Seeing that you like stats lets work with stats that we have. Everybody is going on about the fact that the positive results in South Africa is the hippos ears and there are way more positives. This unfortunately is applicable all over the world. What we can look at is the amount of people being tested vs positive results. Lets compare Spain to SA. Using the available stats 1 in 5.8 people in Spain tested have contracted Covid-19 compared to SA where only 1 in 37 have tested positive. This is completely different. Lets look at another stat, and that is critical patients in Hospital. If we were missing most of the positive cases through a lack of testing, surely we would be seeing way more patients in ICU. According to worldometers.info website that tracks stats, there are 7764 critical patents in Spain vs 36 in South Africa. These are the facts as I see them.
  4. Of course you are ok after your ride because the thugs involved in the incident have been suspended.
  5. Apparently is the operative word. If it was the Rangers story I would take it with a pinch of salt. These guys have lost all credibility and would say anything to get themselves out of the sh$&. Judging by previous posts on twitter, any lawyer will pull these guys story apart in 5 minutes.
  6. I think they will. This is quite high profile. I remember a few years ago there was a guy doing bike jackings on the other side of Pick n Pay. He was caught and got more than 10 years if I recall. All the guys that were attacked need to go ID this scum and make the case watertight.
  7. This is the latest info. Apparently the guy was not shot dead.

    The Munga 2019

Those Trackers are not working great. Dana was riding most of the way with Jack Black and he finished at 20:35 last night already even though his tracker says he is only at 800kms, so I am sure Dana is also finished
  9. Yes. Did you change your seat height when you moved from 175 to 170 cranks?

    The Munga 2019

I see Jack Black is at 0km. Anybody know if he is out or maybe tracker issues?
  11. You follow the route in a clockwise direction
  12. Hi Nordic. The chances are that it is the same crew. so any info regarding their MO and location could be helpful. The form makes provision for GPS coordinates of the attack,
  13. I am so sorry to hear Nordic Elf. Glad you are ok. Please complete this questionnaire to assist in combating crime in the Spruit area. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfSzN_HDiN3xXFOtZMXnlFCSptPUFrVtDMUa5SlDeB3BG8eug/viewform
  14. The best way to resolve this is by getting the vagrants/ plastic collectors involved (as I dont think that it is one of them, they have to much to loose ifbthey get evicted) by either a big cash reward or by threat of eviction because of the attacks. This sucks big time.
  15. This is the seeding index that is used to seed you into the batches. You will receive an e-mail or sms with your batch seeding for the 2019 event
  16. I agree, my painter has a similar bike that was given to him. Those look like flat pedals to me.
  17. I think this is the winner. I would say most people don't even know of this deviation, because they just go straight down.
  18. Will be travelling down Beyers from Jhb side and then left into R374 to Bidon. Think I might have a problem
  19. Do you guys think a mtb ride on the MTB cradle loop will be possible parking at Bidon on Saturday morning or will it just end in frustration?

    Kickr Core

Thanks. That must be newly updated.

    Kickr Core

Six months later and no sign of this smart trainer in South Africa, frustraing.
  22. Hi, that is a stunning looking bike. What is the final weight of that build?
  23. There stuff looks great but everything that I am looking at are sold out. Frustrating
  24. From Facebook the organisers have confirmed that the 72km guys will do the 54km first and then the 22km. But with 22km starting around 09:00 the 72 km guys will be riding the 22km with backmarkers. I think the 22km is more straightforward with no singletrack so passing should be easy.
