  1. Really? Well I never. I thought the opposite was true. Well, it will be interesting to see where she goes nonetheless.
  2. So.. Opinions. Is she going inland next or to Wild Coast? I think inland is safer but Wild Coast will seem more exotic to her. She did say her next destination would be very different.
  3. She really is showing off SA's assets. I hope she continues to have a trouble-free ride. Edit: Spelling
  4. Anybody see the latest Itchy Boots video? Very impressive, both for her tenacity but also scenery and friendly locals

I saw those guys in Mouille Point about a year ago when on my way to coffee. All parked outside a coffee shop. 30 minutes later, I walked out again to see 2 of them having real trouble starting and one even push starting. by this time some members of the group had given up on them and were riding away. I had a good old laugh at that. Reminded me of the old days. Good old two-strokes..
  6. Hairy and Andy. It does sound like Honda are unneccessarily Corporate and unable to adapt to new thinking. Just for example, look what Fire it Up gave her in terms of free equipment and service and what great coverage she gave them. Hond sure missed a trick even after you throwing a golden marketing opportunity their way. Tsk
  7. Haha. 'Kin cheek
  8. From my perspective, living in Sea Point the ride there was a mixed bag and while the coast road always used to be a great ride, nowdays it's full of cyclists riding 3 or 4 abreast or just stopping when they feel like it. Added to that was the taxi problem in Hout Bay so it ended up not being a great occasion. For me, anyway. Edit: Spelling
  9. My claim to fame is that when I was short of work - and my girlfriend started getting very agitated about it - I registered to do manual work and spent a week or so painting the railings outside the Ace. Beaut colour and very professional job I must add.
  10. Oh yes. These bikes are really pretty and good for going local. Beachfront, coffee shop or some such but traffic is a killer so I think it would be an exercise in frustration. Pity we don't have an Ace Cafe. Business idea, perhaps?
  11. I grew up on a diet of Ogri and agree with you that they look great. I suspect, though, that reality of riding them in real life in traffic, wind, over bumps or even just a decent distance would be somewhat different. Especially for me with my pper body weight on my wrists.
  12. Fair question which occurred to me too but he answers it in the video. It's mainly bought by guys or teams who want to race although so many parts are changed it sort of doesn't make sense. But, eye-watering tech indeed.
  13. Not my kind of bike any more but anybody seen this?
  14. ..And they smell good. you forgot that part.
  15. Yes it is but if you persever there is some useful an entertining stuff. Some threads I like: http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=3.0 http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=6.0 http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=17.0 And here is a thread about our latest youTube visitor. Some opinions expressed are positively unacceptable and best ignored. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=256047.0
  16. Hairy, Don't know if you can see this wihtout registering but register if you need to..it's free and worth it. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=256756.0
  17. Good viewing but don't you think it can lead to an undermining of the officials? I would imagine it's not too difficult to make a mistake under pressure of time and baying crowds only to have it analysed over and over by those not facing the pressure.
  18. Patches, is this a good time for me to post a photo of my GS? Haha
  19. Good choice. There's a guy locally here who travelsa lot on a KTM 500 and swears by it. I think though that she had 2 limiting factors which perhaps you haven''t considered: Availability. Price. It seems she did some research and deceided which suppliers to use and from then it was a matter of finding something in their stock. As a matter of interest, what is the local cost of a (used) Husky 501?
  20. My thooghts too. It seems budget was an issue which surprises me but it reaffirms her basic biker values where riding is the top priority and not having the most expensive bike. I have an idea in mind about what the best bike would have been for her and would be keen to hear your opinions. I think a KTM 790 would have been best or Honda NC750X but both, I'm sure, were outside her budget range.
  21. I don't know if you are or indeed have to be registered here to see this but this one is going for R65500. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=256271.0
  22. First picture from Mars ..
  23. OK, Following your "special request" I tried this last night with a ride up Chappies in beautiful early evening light. I connected up a cellphone to an external mic and put it under the rear seat on the exhaust side. Results were bad. Way too loud. So loud in fact the sound was completely distorted. I'm going to try again with the same setup but put it in my map pocket in the back of my jacket to see if it's better from there. So lots of experimenting required so thanks for the suggestion. Gives me an excuse for plenty of riding and will for sure be an enhancement to any future videos.
  24. A video I made of a ride over to Worcester:
