  1. Oh yes. These bikes are really pretty and good for going local. Beachfront, coffee shop or some such but traffic is a killer so I think it would be an exercise in frustration. Pity we don't have an Ace Cafe. Business idea, perhaps?
  2. I grew up on a diet of Ogri and agree with you that they look great. I suspect, though, that reality of riding them in real life in traffic, wind, over bumps or even just a decent distance would be somewhat different. Especially for me with my pper body weight on my wrists.
  3. Fair question which occurred to me too but he answers it in the video. It's mainly bought by guys or teams who want to race although so many parts are changed it sort of doesn't make sense. But, eye-watering tech indeed.
  4. Not my kind of bike any more but anybody seen this?
  5. ..And they smell good. you forgot that part.
  6. Yes it is but if you persever there is some useful an entertining stuff. Some threads I like: http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=3.0 http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=6.0 http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?board=17.0 And here is a thread about our latest youTube visitor. Some opinions expressed are positively unacceptable and best ignored. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=256047.0
  7. Hairy, Don't know if you can see this wihtout registering but register if you need to..it's free and worth it. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=256756.0
  8. Good viewing but don't you think it can lead to an undermining of the officials? I would imagine it's not too difficult to make a mistake under pressure of time and baying crowds only to have it analysed over and over by those not facing the pressure.
  9. Patches, is this a good time for me to post a photo of my GS? Haha
  10. Good choice. There's a guy locally here who travelsa lot on a KTM 500 and swears by it. I think though that she had 2 limiting factors which perhaps you haven''t considered: Availability. Price. It seems she did some research and deceided which suppliers to use and from then it was a matter of finding something in their stock. As a matter of interest, what is the local cost of a (used) Husky 501?
  11. My thooghts too. It seems budget was an issue which surprises me but it reaffirms her basic biker values where riding is the top priority and not having the most expensive bike. I have an idea in mind about what the best bike would have been for her and would be keen to hear your opinions. I think a KTM 790 would have been best or Honda NC750X but both, I'm sure, were outside her budget range.
  12. I don't know if you are or indeed have to be registered here to see this but this one is going for R65500. http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=256271.0
  13. First picture from Mars ..
  14. OK, Following your "special request" I tried this last night with a ride up Chappies in beautiful early evening light. I connected up a cellphone to an external mic and put it under the rear seat on the exhaust side. Results were bad. Way too loud. So loud in fact the sound was completely distorted. I'm going to try again with the same setup but put it in my map pocket in the back of my jacket to see if it's better from there. So lots of experimenting required so thanks for the suggestion. Gives me an excuse for plenty of riding and will for sure be an enhancement to any future videos.
  15. A video I made of a ride over to Worcester:
  16. Fud some reference to it here: https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/02/12/mobdro-not-working/
  17. Anybody else having problems with Mobdro? The stream appears to be broken. Gives me a message that it can't load data
  18. Interesting. Why do you think that?
  19. Safest way around corners on a Harley..
  20. Morning all, I want to make an aluminium helmet chin mount mount for GoPro, similar to the one in the photo. I am finding it difficult to source a small piece of aluminium plate about 500mm by 500mm x 2.4mm. all suppliers wil only sell me 2m sheets! Anyone know of a place in Cape Town which will sell smaller pieces? Cheers and Merry Xmas to all.
  21. Thanks guys. Bundu, where did you buy the Rode and Skylark, I can't find any specs on this mic I'm looking at. How do I find out if it's analogue? For its price - R199 - I doubt it's digital. Thanks again for the feedback
  22. Hi all, I am looking to buy a Gopro mic adapter for my hero8. It looks like the one in the attachment. Trouble is I am not sure if it will work with this mic I have from Takealot for R199. Reviews say it only works with high-end mics. Anyone here have experience of this? Cheers
  23. In my case it was the straps themselves which snapped, not the stitching. There was speculation that it was exposure to sun or rot due to leaving it stored while damp etc but neither of those conditions were true so it's still an open question. The agent never got back to me on what the cause was so I don't know and as I said, they had the straps repaired. I note that the repair used different material for the straps so I hope it will last.
  24. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/184693-camelbak-woes/ This is my experience. I still don't know why the straps broke and haven;t used the bag since so I'm in the unusual situation of having a 5 year old bag which has hardly been used and yet the straps almost literally fell apart. One even broke as I had the Camelbak slung over my shoulder while walking into Sportsmanswarehouse. I have to say the agent took the bag for examination and had the straps replaced for me for no charge and although I have not used it since then I expect it to be OK now..
  25. Just how long would it take to get to this level?
