  1. Spokey, when will you be back? I was thinking of doing a trip to Swartberg and Prince Alfred's Pass and environs and thought perhaps a catchup may be possible.
  2. Geez those bikes have done a lap or two.
  3. I had a self-induced heat seize on my 360. Rode up Sir Lowry's pass and when I reached the top I switched off and freewheeled about 1 km "to give it a rest". Duh. 1 km further when I tried to bump start it, it just instantly seized. Cylinder had cooled, contracted and seized onto the piston. I had to wait a bit on the side of the road, worrying if I was going to make it but about 30 minutes later it started again on the first kick. Lesson learned.
  4. Gee, was that a proper seize? Sounds more like a heat seize
  5. Haha, I've been given so much stick for my "chicken strip"
  6. One of the guys in that thread said that the parking attendants were helpful so perhaps ask one of them when you get there. And if he doesn't know, find another.
  7. It's a useful site for many reasons. there are some opinions voiced there with which I do not agree at all but overall I find it useful although it has an offroad bias. But threads like MotoGP, and day to day tech issues are very entertaining/interesting and give me pause for thought. Perhaps do a dry run to the airport using info you can find just to do a proof of concept?
  8. I absolutely agree with you about a cover and the valet thing. Owning a bike is about passion and we - for what it's worth - develop a relationship of sorts with our bikes and want to care for them. Here is the link for the Wilddog parking thread. You may have to join to be able to see it but it's free. https://wilddog.net.za/threads/bike-parking-cape-town-international-airport.259416/#post-4843902
  9. Interesting...Why is your bike a "her"?
  10. This contribution from July: I parked there last week - there are demarcated bays next to the pickup zone pedestrian walkway. Enter at the P2 pickup zone boom, and exit underneath the ramp coming from level 2. I asked security, they are super helpful.
  11. There was a thread about it recently on Wilddogs where some guy found free bike parking at the airport. I'll see if I can find it.
  12. Quick question here. Does anybody know where I can buy a small amount of electric conductive paint? My phone cradle has worn down its contact points and I want to try to put paint on them. Limit of about R300 otherwise it's not cost effective
  13. Kinda feels good to be so in touch with the elements though, doesn't it? Well, maybe only looking back on it. At the time it's a bugger.
  14. Well done and it's something I shoulda done long ago but didn't. I'm sure you're a better rider now that you've done the course.
  15. Very nice, thanks. If I may ask, how much was the course?
  16. Nice but I can't see the photos. Can you post them as jpgs if possible?
  17. Slightly off topic but still two-stroke related. A while ago I passed a groupf of two-strokes stopped at a coffee shop. Great selection of bikes with RD 350s, a coupla Suzuki triples and even a Suzuki rotary. When I walked past about 30 mins later the guys were leaving and some had run out of patience and weere already gone while 3 of them were kicking away like crazy trying to get their bikes started. Man, it reminded me a of the old days... Stragely, though, I started out biking with a Yamaha 360 RT3 and can't remember ever even changing the plug. Lucky for sure.
  18. Why the mixed feelings? He has some positive feedback from HD riders and surely more horses is good, right? There is an environmental cost I suppose but what else bugs you?
  19. If or when you do this, please give us some feedback. Perhaps I need one too. Cheers
  20. If not, here he is:
  21. Found it. See if this link works and if you can contact him. https://wilddog.net.za/threads/boosterplug-feedback.225626/
  22. There's a guy on Wilddogs who sells a device for adjusting the air/fuel mix and claims to cure surging and difficulties associated with cats. I think he even lives close to you. I'll see if I can find a link
  23. It seems the YouTube algorithm feeds you and me the same suggestions.
  24. And the last thing I want my neighbours to know is th at I know somebody who owns a Harley.
  25. Hairy, You literally just pulled away from parking directly opposite my apartment. I coulda shouted but......Harley.
