  1. Hahaha, ja I had an odometer like that once.
  2. Will do. In fact I was wondering about arranging a meet and greet ride maybe to Kleinmond or somewhere for Hub bikers to finally meet. Ideas?
  3. Good idea. And it's a nice casual ride out from Sea Point.
  4. Haha, what colour is the sky in your world? That's "legacy oil".
  5. Nah. Best cup of coffee was on Sunday on my couch at 8am, watching MotoGP during loadshedding, courtesy of my (grudge purchase) inverter.
  6. Geez, that kind of parking is so irritating. 2 reaons why they do it: 1. They don't care about others and the effect of their actions. This speaks to education and culture. 2. No consequences for their actions. On a more technical note, i that the coffee shop at Melkbos? I have seen the two stroke gang meet up there some Sundays.
  7. Can't see it/Won't open
  8. For those interested, you might have to register to see this but it's free and well worth it. Just the sound alone but it's also 360 so you can move around to look around you. Pretty cool. https://www.motogp.com/en/videos/20...he-marquez-and-quartararo-crash-in-360/436340
  9. Ai, poor GS riders. Always getting it. Beaut
  10. OK, A bit of Bain's Kloof feedback: The new road surface is amazingly smooth and a beaut to ride on. I do, however, think it will be like ice when wet and really dangerous if it ever gets icy. There are now no places to stop on the way out. On the way back they have closed off most of the stops and put a very rough rocky surface on the 3 or four still left. Stopping is not easy and one has to be careful. Still some selfish drivers around, of course. A guy in a car came steaming down and straight through the stop street at tweede tol over the bridge so be careful. All in all a very nice ride. Got to Bike Forge to discover it was closed. I believe they only open weekends now. Right when Bain's Kloof will be at its busiest. I have to find an alernative. So.. No photos of the pass except those coming up which are stills taken from the GoPro and of course, no photos of Bike Forge. Still, a great day out.
  11. Meanwhile, I I am taking a Monday ride with a mate up the resurfaced Bai's Kloof to the Bike Forge. I'll post some photos later.
  12. Heresy. There's a simple solution - move to Wanaka. If not, you can expect some hate mail here. . Seriously, though, I have done something similar in the past and know what a wrench it is. Hope your router gives you hours of safe fun and allows you to make something to sell which will enable you to buy a new bike soon.
  13. But buying is by invite only apparently? Edit: Apologies, by appointment only.
  14. With a range of about 450 to 550 kms on my lump and at the rate I ride, it would take me about 3 weeks to a month to ride it to empty. Ain't got that amount of patience. My computer tells me I get about 5.4l/100kms. Good enough for me.
  15. Typical Harley rider. I'm just surprised you haven't chromed them. Yet.
  16. Haha. Which raises the question. What is it that Harley riders want to use the bike for?
  17. Spokey, Great post and I can just hear the biker passion in your analysis. For what it's worth, I think the most telling phrase you used is "it really depends on what you want out of the bike." I think correctly identifying that and what you want to use the bike for will correctly determine which bike you get. On the odd occasion you use it for something else, it may not be ideal but a short term compromise is always a good chance to learn. Once you've identified what you want to use it for, it's then a matter of listing strengths and weaknesses of each bike and matching them to requirements. Remember, too, that if you feel you made the wrong choice you can always sell and change to the next option in your list. Whatever you do, it's biking and you can't go far wrong.
  18. Geez. Literally playing with your life. I would go and give them a proper ear-bashing.
  19. Ah OK. It seems you may have a doppelganger riding around. I only caught a fleeting glance at the bike and am not sure of the colour but it definitely has the double headlights like yours. Incidentally, as a result of complaints by Hout Bay loacls to Superbikes racing through Hout Bay and up Chappies and the coast road on weekends, the traffic police are out in force every weekend with roadblocks checking all bikes for every detail of roadworthiness. If you go there, ride slowly and make doubly sure your bike is compliant. I see some guy was fined and had his bike licence removed for having bolts through his number plate as a means of attachment. Be warned, it's an expensive and frustrating experience.
  20. Hairy, were you riding on the coast road, direction town, on Sunday at about 10.30 am? I thought I saw you in the are near the Antipolis wreck
  21. I've done something similar on the coast road. Do you also get that feeling of being out there on your own, despite the traffic and the feeling of solitude in your own cocoon in the dark
  22. Thanks. Still no interest from anyone?
