  1. You'll have to be more specific. 🤪
  2. Gear was semi dry on departure and completely dry at end of ride. There’s something creepy about putting a damp bib on though 😳
  3. Sitting in office surrounded by damp cycling gear, weather app fooled me too.
  4. re Foreshore: At the very least a sign warning cyclists that this is a high crime area, so that the out of towners are made aware
  5. Don't just grab a pair of jeans from your cupboard at home and assume they are yours. Had an unexpected surprise after this mornings commute to work when I realised that my teenage sons jeans had somehow found their way into my cupboard. Middle aged man waddling round the office in jeans so tight the zip won't even close. Its a day for letting your shirt hang out 😁
  6. Either move the informal dwellers away from the existing cycle lane OR reroute the cycle lane through a safer area.
  7. I may have been responsible for this. I raised a defect with CoCT to fix a leaking pipe next to the cycle lane as it was starting to push the tarmac up. It only took then a week to sort it out and resurface. Minor inconvenience for some repair work.
  8. No matter how effective you think your winter gloves are, in winter wear a pair of nitrile gloves under them. Happy chilly morning commutes.
  9. Same thought crossed my mind, hopefully its a valid reason like they can only do maintenance on dam/roads during the wet months of the year
  10. Update on Nature Reserve: The Koeberg Nature Reserve remains closed due to minor construction on and around a small dam in the reserve. Once this work has been completed, minor work on the cycling routes in the reserve will follow in order to rehabilitate them. This will take approximately three months to complete. Once all the work has been completed and the Koeberg Nature Reserve is ready for reopening, stakeholders will be informed.
  11. Breakdown of who's who in the pack. Nice to see Pottie moving from privateer to team racing. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/the-complete-guide-to-the-2022-world-cup-dh-teams.html
  12. Getting excited
  13. https://www.chilledsquirrel.com/ I used these guys to convert my hard tail to an e-commuter. Very happy with the product and service. Also Bafang rear hub motor.
  14. Will be selling a carbon MTB in the near future. I'm considering taking it to LBS for them to inspect and write up a letter of sorts indicating no major problems with it. Hoping this will convince any hesitant buyers that bike is "as advertised".
  15. Yup, also sitting at work with a wet commute home awaiting me. Not too fussed about the wet but breaking new ground with the ebike's waterprooficity
  16. Did you do the conversion yourself. I assume that it was a lefty Ocho fork on the original setup. Interested on hearing if the conversion from Ocho to normal fork was easy or difficult.
  17. My favourite Pomplamoose cover
  18. The honeymoon is over, WFH has come to an end at our company, BUT now I can dust off the old commuter again. Started on Monday and Wednesday this week and I managed to remember all the stuff I need to make commuting to work a success (ALL the clothes required at work, work permit etc). The shower at work still splutters out some warm water but someone has nicked the shower head ????. It was great to be out on the bike so early in the morning although I wasn't impressed on Wednesday when I had a head wind in & out of work!
  19. Have a look at the Tygerberg MTB club slowcoach group. They cater for all levels of riders. https://www.facebook.com/groups/339245799519995/
