I lost one of my best mates that day. I remember talking to him after qualifying, he was confident and felt some changes for race day were going to give him a good shot at a good race. He had just come back from testing Kenny Roberts GP bikes overseas and had impressed with times. He was so excited for that year ahead. Remains one of the darkest days in my life.

I watch a lot of Lance/George You Tube videos (I know, shock horror cheaters!!)..... But anyway, both of them often say, no way they would like to be racing these guys today, the level is through the roof. The tip of the spear is now very sharp!

Have you watched some of the YouTube videos on those wings? Crazy! The one I watched, the Aston Martin name literally disappeared as it built speed down the straight. I had my “magic trick you fooled me” face on.

Did friend not check it before he/she left the shop? If so, did it then stop working? Is the lever going to the bar or are the pads norm”biting” the disc? Air in the system maybe after the bleed. Wheel taken off for transport and maybe the lever was pulled?

I just like to see race results come from on track performance and mistakes. Not because of mechanical issues, or pit crew etc. I fully accept that my view is not a reality but I come from a racing background where results were determined by driver vs. driver, if I was beat it was because someone simply drove better than me or out smarted me on the track. Maybe I’m too old school, hahahaha.

Nothing “unbranded” on any bike in that field. Not even close. Not even the gazebo’s they use I the pits come from Makro.. MVP’s bike had World Championship wins on it before he arrived and TP’s bike won the Men’s World Champs last year.

I think KC was upset with the tactics. She was doing a lot of the chase work while the rest sat on. She was impatient in my opinion and paid for it.

It does have to be a iPhone to report location. However if in “lost mode” any phone can “tap” the tag and get taken to a webpage that the owner can leave a message on. “Like if found, please call me on xxx” etc.

I played golf this past Monday here in Dubai and two blokes in the four ball were New Zealander’s. Top chaps I tell you, if the majority of the nation are like these fellas you all are very lucky. I work with a couple Kiwi’s too, also awesome personalities.
