I hear you. And agree that when mixing bike and eBike there is a more complicated dynamic that needs to be taken care of. I’m not experienced at this situation on MTB’s as only been on Road bikes in my examples above so might be easier to manage and the new eBikes on the road roll quite nicely with motor off (the ones I have been with). Enjoy your bike ones it returns!

You can go with zero assist and sweat as much as you like.... ? We have a chap who rides with us, he's got motor off for the first 90min or so and then as he starts to fade he dials in some help. Some days more than others, but he's always with the group. There used to be another guy we rode with, he used to ride to the start point with assistance. Ride with us with motor off and then ride back home at max assist.

Buy an entry level garmin, plug it in and forget about it. Until that one day I hope never comes and you need the footage and you are rest assured that it has been recorded and in focus. Trust me on this, recording for "fun and entertainment" is one thing and worth a hassle. Dashcam footage which is typically for more serious situations you don't want to play around with. Not saying it has to be a Garmin.... Just a well supported, reliable device that has a good track record. I have the most basic garmin units in both my cars. They out of site and out of mind. But when I've wanted some footage, they have always been perfect. Good luck with your purchase.

Arm Pump has ended or at least severely limited many a career. Even more so in the Motocross side of things. And surgery is a bit of a hit/miss as far as relief goes.

I think he needs a little for “race distance” in him. He looked shattered after that last race. And if he’s pushing at 98% we all know that the extra 2% comes with a lot more effort.

Lando actually said in an interview after the race it was his knee pad that was hitting the paddle. Explains why he didn’t feel it through his gloves. But yeah, what an awesome moment of racing chaos crossing road with technology trickery. I remember even back in my racing days, did a test in a Zetec Formula Ford, got back to the pits, said I was flat box through turn one and a little prick on a laptop said, “no, you were off the throttle for 0.5 sec and then at 70% for the following 0.6 sec before going back to 100%”. My ego was shattered!
