  1. Slightly off topic but on topic. I had not played soccer (football) for over 20 years. Here where I live now they have ‘dads football” every Saturday morning. 2 weeks ago I thought I’d join. Holy smoke........... 2 halves of 30min on a full pitch. I was totally knackered. Went home and slept 4 hours in the afternoon!! Garmin had me at 8km total distance and ave HR at 168bpm for the hour. That’s over 90% of my cycling HR max!! What a jol. What a realization how bad my overall fitness was. Now, each week getting a little stronger and I’m loving the exercise. Change on motivation from just turning pedals.

This is an even bigger mistake than what WhoreGay made!!
  3. Haven’t seen the crash so can only speculate. But the was a video from a few minutes before the crash. Full TT bike and the wind was BLOWING. Looks like they were finishing their ride. Suppose an extra challenge these guys deal with when checking out the course and needing ride on what might not be ideal roads etc on bikes that don’t handle great. But yeah, he does tend to fall off more than others!
  4. We all know that LH44 will be the first to rock the 700’s :-)
  5. Ok cool. Two things I like about the 35’s (personal) They lighter than the new ones (700’s are ali) They fold flat and smaller, great for my laptop bag and that HUGE amount of space (not) that I have in economy class seat pocket. I do like your “affordable” comment though......suppose R90k ZAR bicycles can also be considered affordable all things considered. LOL.
  6. Thanks for that. Somehow though that just seems like marketing gumph to make those who have just laid out cash for 35’s to not feel bad. I really don’t see enough of a difference between the two. And Bose, like Apple keep old products on as they still make money. I mean you can still by 25’s today... But hey, I have a few pairs of Bose and even home products from them, I do love their stuff!!
  7. 700’s are the news ones about to be released. They will replace the 35II’s. I’ve got the 35II’s and to be honest, don’t really like the design look of the new ones. But of course haven’t physically seen them yet. Working around a lot of people who travel a lot they all seem to really be loving the Sony’s at the moment. Im more than happy though with the Bose.

On a different Formula....Anyone been following the W-Series racing? Our very own Tasmin Pepper representing South Africa very well thus far. Well worth following and watching the selection process from the beginning.

We could go round in circles here. Your points are valid. Ok, let me try rephrase.... By avoiding the situation (i.e don’t make a rookie mistake under pressure) the rules and risk of how the rules will be implemented could have been avoided.

That is what I said in my last sentence isn’t it?

Sure, the balance of the car would have been affected due to the back maker. But I would expect a multiple world champion with that much experience and be paid to be on top of his game to have come across a back marker before. Did it affect the car, for sure. Was the pressure Lewis had him under contribute to the mistake, for sure! Take that pressure away and I can almost guarantee he would have not taken to the grass. Monaco, sure stewards made a bad call. But I’m not sure what you suggesting? I was making a clear example of driving under pressure and not making a mistake. Not on how that situation was created. Again, let me say I’m not a Lewis fan over Vettel. But, you cannot ignore the amount of mistakes that Vettel has made while under pressure. I don’t recall seeing him do this earlier in his career. So, was the car back then “that” good that he wasn’t stretched, or has he lost his nerve to a degree. Then, same could be said for Lewis in the Merc currently.

    Formula 1...

“Preferred” is a strong description, but I do appreciate both of their talents tremendously. My point of view (and I do come from over a decade of competition in various forms of Motorsport and my family has been involved for decades) is that we often end up in a debate over the “rules” in a racing situation that was filled with unknowns and opinions while trying to apply a rational conclusion to an irrational situation. You will always get a split view. For me, as a racing driver, don’t get yourself into that situation in the first place. If you don’t want a pass, don’t give them an opportunity and if you want to pass apply enough pressure to the situation and force a mistake. I’m not a Lewis fan but as a reference, look how he handled the pressure in Monaco a month ago. Clearly the car was gone but he held his head and didn’t flinch. He did not open the door for one of these situations to occur. He never gave a reason to hand over his result decision to a 3rd party. He controlled the situation, I respect that.

Bottom line...... Once again pressure from Lewis forced Vettel into a mistake. I don’t really care what happened after that.
  14. Have to agree. If the purpose here was to decide which one to have in your garage. It’s the F-16 for sure! Can just imagine the drunk buddy stories around that!! Hey, hold my beer......

You only have to look around the paddock at the guys who used to race those beasts to see they left permanent scars.... We can never compare different generations and I have no doubt there is talent in abundance in all of them. But I do believe the stokers bit harder and one paid a big price for getting it wrong.
  16. My guess a mid 70’s 100 LS Coupe that’s been modified.
  17. Guy Martin. Now here is a dude that loves bikes. Ambassador of note, gentleman and TT legend! What an interview!! Love it. https://www.facebook.com/387986324607909/posts/2675502289189623?sfns=mo
  18. Actually looks like they split the bag and lost the powder on the floor in front of the bike before they got their card out.
  19. Those are cool until the sun reflects in one of them, blinds the driver and he crashes into you....

What a legend and one of the first people to take car development and driver preparation to the next level. Brought marketing and sponsorship to a new level too. A game changer!! RIP

I’ve been. Even had the privilege of being in the pit area. Also went to the SA F1 GP. And.....already have my Abu Dhabi F1 tickets for Nov/Dec :-) But, so much more on the bucket list!!
  22. I’ve just bought the 55” version of that Sony here in Dubai. Great TV, super impressed considering what some people spend on TV’s here I feel like I stole it!! Really good TV, hope the price starts to come back to you.
  23. Agree to a point but I do believe that by making it harder to get such weapons as well as reducing the amount in circulation can only be beneficial in the long term.
  24. But back to topic now....... :-)
  25. Simply click on “unfollow” and reshape your timeline with people who actually mean something to you. Simple really. I get frustrated with people who constantly bash social media (not saying you are here) but continue to friend/follow the pages/people. Makes no sense to me.
