  1. Well done Didi! You beat me to it, luck fish. Echo, Missy T, please post pictures on hub once you completed rebuild.
  2. Hey, no problem. I hope it met with your expectations.
  3. That is seriously nice. Take out a third bond, sell the couch and a few other items. If that's not enough sell the car and ride the Nago.
  4. These wheels are very sought after, especially by the SS crowd. They sell for a fortune in Europe but here single wheel sets aren't worth much. Where are you based as I am interested? Here are the wheels on my missus's C40
  5. Make sure you buy him a heavy frame and slow wheels. This will make him work hard at trying to beat you on the road. After a couple of days he will certainly have a lot more respect for you. Happy cycling!
  6. Best to post some pics showing what you need done and then the hubbers can assist.
  7. Hey Wazza, those colours work well together. Hope you have lots of miles and smiles together. P.S. Would be nice to get some old school pedals with toe clips & white straps.
  8. Hi Heyyou Yes, ideally 7400 series crank, front and rear derailleur but will also look at something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171271037284?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  9. Wise! I am bidding on some 7400 series cranksets on ebay at the moment but prices are crazy.
  10. Thank you Heyyou, I didn't know whether to post here or on the Colnago or Campagnolo forums. Yes, I bought the frame a few months ago from a hubber in Cape Town. It had a few scratches and a small ding on the top tube so I had the frame touched up. It came out very nice and reminds me of my first Italian bike I ever owned back in +-1981, an Attala. After buying the frame I needed a group set and wheels so I looked around but the new stuff is so expensive! I then got a good deal on a Bianchi 928 with Record Titanium. I stripped the Bianchi and sold off the frame. I kept the bars but when I looked at putting them on the Master it looked too chunky so I bought a NOS ITM Millennium alu bar and stem. I still need a seat post and hoping to get another hubber to come down on the price of a Look carbon stem. If not, I will wait until something suitable becomes available. Any advise or offers would be appreciated! The Eurus wheels are from the Bianchi and look quite modern but not out of place. The Record Titanium group set works well and was easy to set up. Confession, this is my first external BB and I admit I find it very smooth. I know it is not too retro but will be soon given the pace of technology. Anyway, how does she ride? Went for a second ride this morning with the missus out around Kyalami and through Midrand back on Maxwell Drive home. The Master climbs well and as I am a climber I enjoyed riding out of the saddle. Sandton is blessed with amazing potholes and the Master is very nimble and twitchy on some of the stretches or road we travelled this morning. Not as easy letting go of the bars as on my Lux Dream but I will get used to the more aggressive handling. Here are some more photos shown with the missus' C40.
  11. Jules Have a look around this site. I am sure you will find it informative. http://velobase.com/Velos/ViewModel.aspx?ID=14AEBDF0-08FC-4A3D-9A9D-EC44439B89EC&Enum=201&AbsPos=4&SearchID=a47e6ace-c1f6-4fa2-9845-3a1d7489b2cb&PgOffset=0
  12. I am 171cm and can ride a 53 to 56. The later if it is old school frame. Depends upon inside leg measurement and you can normally change stem length and/or angle height. Personally I wouldn't buy cheaper carbon frame second hand but would rather look for a better quality aluminium frame. But then I don't know enough about carbon frames. A 3-4 year old 105 or Campy equivalent is a better bet than some modern higher grade group sets as they don't wear out as fast. I still ride 15 year old Chorus which parts work perfectly and still look good. Get your son to keep the group set clean. High grade chain lube is worth the price when factored into price of clusters, chain rings and chain.
  13. Hi Morpheus, one word for this bike, "perfect". It is beautiful from the paint work/colour to the NOS groupset. This is something to be very proud of. Well done, enjoy.
  14. +1 for Cycloworx in Petervale! I can recommend them. Well run family business with great equipment and facilities. Also facilitate group rides over the weekends from the centre, both MTB and road.
  15. It's a beautiful frame! I am about to begin rebuilding my 80's Special with Croce Dáune group set. May have to rebuild my Master once I get the frames back from being touched up. Can't wait. Let me know if you ever want to get rid of the Spiral, looks like my size 54-55cm?
  16. Purple Marin Palisade Trail with orange fork. It had V brakes and granny gears (triple front, 6 at the back). No front shock but oversized tubing. Used to throw a mean wheelie and once went around the block on the back wheel. Stolen Dar es Salaam in mid 90's and probably going strong.
  17. Very nice, would look even better restored to original condition. Looks like it is a late 70, early 80's Special?
  18. Hi Eviltwin, Consider placing more detail in your ad, for example regarding the model of the group and wheel sets, etc. This will give viewers a better idea of what is on offer. Also take a photo from the other side showing the crank and detailers.
  19. Sorry it was me. Not sure of my intentions just yet but will let you guys know in a few days.
  20. That's why the ride is sponsored by ........... Dischem!
  21. Glad to hear you are OK but please don't move someone if they have had a neck or back injury. It could have been more serious than it was.
  22. I sincerely hope all these lovely pieces of Campag belong to the posting hubbers! Would love to call 1st dibs but I am but a poor man. Here are some pics of a Vitus I am busy building using various bits and pieces I had lying around. So far: Nuovo Record rear derailer (very light even compared to newer 10 speed Record Titanium!) Record(?) front derailer Gran Turismo crank and chainrings (not in the best of shape with oil and grease marks in the alloy) Not sure I know how to restore this? Nuovo(?) callipers Brake levers minus any hoods at this stage. Not yet cleaned
  23. Selling a Daccordi track frame. It will make a very nice restro project for someone. Unfortunately I don't have the time as I am busy with a few other projects and need to raise some funds. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/79256-60cm-daccordi-track-frame-fork/
  24. Agreed, the OLMO is looking super at the moment and is going to be a nice ride!
