  1. Good point: check the weather forecast - yr.no and accuweather.com (not weathersa.co.za) - and prepare accordingly
  2. Are you serious? It hurt no-one more than the organizers to cut out part of day 2. They spend weeks preparing trails and then have to divert the route to try keep everyone safe. I see too many "racers" out there on their 29er, 10 kg hardtails, finishing at the tail-end of the pack with no more than 2 water bottles... IMO: know your limits, get a trailbike, prepare to spend the day (camelback), ride rustig up the hill with your mates, eat and drink as much as you can at the watering tables and chase downhill. Finish day with a beer in hand... have a great race ride!
  3. 1) Gravity is awesome 2) Suspension is fun 3) Flow is focused pleasure 4) Every trail is unique 5) Gravity works 6) You never regret to go 7) We are small 8) You value what you earn 9) Don't try it - do it 10) Sharing doubles the fun
  4. Well said...
  5. And problem solver...
  6. Sharp wayne... sharp Let me add my voice of disgust - morons!
  7. As patches says... the steath needs a port at the bottom of the seattube for the hose to enter into the frame. Be aware of being sold the Reverb 1 - the second generation is more reliable
  8. My wife has a 2012 Fox TALAS and it is creaking from the crown/stanchion bond... Any solutions or experience? I have tried leaving the bike upside down overnight with WD40 to "penetrate" - but alas... nada!
  9. I agree with Nigel... it is a bit of a new way of thinking about the course. Most used to say the race was won on the middle section, but actually Greg seems to have held back a bit on the flat to give it stick on the last section. Greg often took the short, inside line on turns with berms and walls - I think he made some time there. How he made it stick in those situations is another question...
  10. Yes... tour for my 40th with mates and wifey! Any volunteers for babysitters?
  11. TP has pipped BC Bike Race to the top of my bucket list...
  12. Related, but not really...
  13. Howick... still one of the best! Up new trail "Almost Rockless" which runs to the left of old "Face". Down "Pines" And then some more...
  14. Its only too much bike if you can't afford it...
  15. I often seat both sides of the tire with a regular unslimed tube. Then remove the tube without unseating the one bead. Insert tubeless valve and stans. Re-inflate.
  16. Pitseng pass rivals many european alps passes... Beautiful, awesome, but brutal. Also going to be covered in snow and freezing cold this weekend... We had long weekend in March: PMB - Afriski via Sani Pass Afriski - Lejone (this leg is ridable) Lejone - PMB via Fiksburg
  17. As my 4yr old son would say: I-did-it! What a proverbial ball-ache! Forged a "tool" from a SS rod: secured tool in vice and tapped out the bearings. New bearings pressed in:
  18. Thanks V12 - I am in PMB... I will give it a try and if all else fails take it to mr Minn senior to sort out
  19. Unfortunately the inner race is out already...
  20. Yes, the outer race of a sealed bearing. I have this tool to remove the bearing from the link, but unfortunately the inner race pressed out without the ball bearings and outer race...
  21. Any suggestions on how to remove these blighters? The angle is too acute to tap out from the other side.
  22. Bugger that! Make it harder! Agree with Nico... will the real mountain bikers please stand up?
  23. I need a new dropper post - mine has packed up again!
  24. 5 runs! Thats great, look forward to it. The buddy challenge has been accepted. Anyone know a rough outlie of the routes?
