Prices rarely come into it as they are pretty standard everywhere give or take a few rand.

If any shop, not only cycling related, wants to have a relationship with my bank card then at least be friendly, helpful, have at least some of the stuffs I want etc... Having said that I have been buying from 2 Cycle Shops and at the one I spend the most at they know my name and greet me with a smile when I walk in. They don't stock all the stuffs I want so thats why the second bike shop. They don't know me but do greet me with a friendly attitude and offer assistance when you enter their establishment and take the time to advise me on stuffs.

There will always be something to endanger other riders. Between dodging empty gel packets, mp3 player users, under skilled riders, substandard bikes etc...... Whats the percentage of MP3 player users - it is not too common in my experience. Hell every crash I had so far can only be blamed on my own lack of concentration. Ride away from them and if you cant slow down so they can ride away from you - whats it matter when we are racing for 138th place anyway? I do see the original posters point of view but am getting increasingly worked up over regulation / over regulation / loss of freedom etc. It is starting to get like George Orwell's 1984.
