  2. Paramedics worked fervently....... Cant wait to hear the real story from the horses mouth as it were.
  3. Just make sure that whatever way you find is safe and the fix will not let go when you least expect it. CBrundson is a member of the DA - Said it cost him 10 bucks..
  4. I understand the cost implications and sympathise but really do not believe it is safe to fix that cut. Maybe someone knows of a tyre that had excellent protection and can maybe resist bottles better. What kind of tyre - Road or MTB?
  5. Do it yourself - Only go to the LBS as a last resort. Post the progress here - this could wind up being entertaining.
  6. Say bye to the tyre - Safety First. I have lost 2 tyres recently due to bottle bits in the road.

  15. Bontrager do as far as I know Bontrager does but I am unsure of which rims they fit in. Definately Bontrager Rims and I believe Fulcrum Red Metal Rims.

  17. So what pressure range is recommended for tubeless. Is it the same for 26" and 29"? Mutt2010-01-11 07:42:57
  18. 29" - You have opened a can of worms here - you know that? Asking this lot which is the best mountain bike.

    Conti tires

I happened to ride over a bottle on my 29er and gaffed the sidewall (Back Tyre). I bought a new tyre and it was thinner than what i had - my mistake.. So I figured - Thin up front and switched them around. I had a niggly feeling that the fatter one may be better in front but i switched them anyway. I reckon I will reswitch (is that a word) and try it out.

    Conti tires

Techguy - Why put the fatter tyre on the front? is it reccomended as a result of the forces placed on it by cornering etc?
  21. I believe MTN and ROAG are heading in this direction with MTB. Seems you get a number board with a chip in it and thats it. http://www.mtncycling.co.za/News/TopNewsItemsPerCommission.aspx?cname=Number%20Boards
  22. That was at Solomons in Woodmead - not sure about Solomons on the other side of the borewors curtain.
  23. i was offered 100ml for R100 from LBS. By chance I found 100ml for 35 bucks at Solomons (Whilst buying 29" tyres cheaper than I could find elsewhere)
  24. I would offer but last year i had a scrap with my driver - AKA wife, the day before the race and she refused to drive! I think she did it on purpose so as to get out of driving to Vtown amongst cyclists, a task she dislikes intensely, I am sort of expecting a repeat this year and have made a contingency plan which may fall thru.
  25. Get someone to collect it for you and give it to you at the start - offer them your goodie bag (Which was a single, solitary newspaper last year) as a reward!
