  1. Hi dimsum Thats very nice.....but I would like to buy from a local dealer. I have been smoked by shipping costs and taxes previously. Plus there are some bargains available in SA, just no stock at the mo.
  2. Shweet! I will have a look there. Thanx for the help SLiick!
  3. Hey SLiick Please tell me more......I've looked everywhere in SA. I need a 60-70mm stem, preferably machined and anodised.
  4. Jeez man that's hectic! Glad you are unharmed! Good luck with finding this douchebag, and with your insurance!
  5. Hi Patches My bars are 720's and feel pretty good to me. I will see how a shorter stem affects the feel, I know it will make the steering more responsive, but that's what I am looking for. As well as I feel like I am too far forward when taking drops and when manualling.
  6. Thank you all, for your much appreciated advice and opinions! I think I will rather wait for Dial'd Bikes to get their new stock. I think I will rather go for a DMR Swarm in black, as Rush Sports only have the gold Spanks in stock.
  7. Hi everyone, I need some opinions on the combination of my bike and a new stem....... Will this go with this? I am looking for a shorter stem, and all Dial'd Bikes'stems are out of stock. The above stem is a Spank Royala Timer stem from Rush Sports for R405. Bargain? Excuse the crap bike photo
  8. Had an awesome ride at 7 Dams in Bloemfontein on Monday morning! Sucks being back at work today!!!!!!!
  9. Hi Nick I bought a 2012 Stumpy FSR Comp 26'er earlier this year, got it for R13250! Super bargain, as they where listed for R27000. Maybe find out if you cant get hold of these bargains from Spez. It has 140mm travel and descent parts all round. I just love mine! Good luck!
  10. Sorry guys, no guitars here.....
  11. Hi Martin It seems like that would be the only way.....Cool, I need all the measurements of the members where you would like to clamp the fender. Widths, lengths, clearances between components/members and off course tubing dimensions. I basically drew up my whole rear triangle, to check for interference when the rear compresses. You can send me some close up photos, and hand sketches. Even compile a short report in Word. You would have to log the project with us though. Neway mail me at joshjoub@gmail.com and we can take it further from there.
  12. Hi Werner I work for a company called PDTS in Bloemfontein, we do product development. Our sister company CRPM has all the laser sintering and 3D printing capabilities that you can dream of. They can even do Titanium. I did the design myself, and paid for the laser sintering. If we can help you to develop a product we will subsidise you according to your profile.
  13. I am really looking forward to the holidays, and this song is just perfect on the road......just push the repeat button once and relax for hours.

Sjeeez what the hell! Ek is bly om te hoor dat jy OK daarvan af gekom het. Soos Rooiwillie se, probeer dit opvolg. Eks seker jy sal R5000 uit daardie breindood piece of s#!^ kan kry. Flippen lucky packet lisensies..........
  15. Alutech bikes offer these 'boxes on their top of the range models. http://alutech-cycles.com/Fanes-Enduro-30-Pinion-Komplettbike-v3-M2013 Looks awesome, weight is a negative, but I think they surely have something there. Give it some more time for R&D......
  16. MEGAVALANCHE!!!!! + Bike n hike tour on/over/accross the Andes should be rather special!
  17. I will only have to take a few measurements, and I wont scratch the paint I promise. It is for a good cause and Spark owners all over the world could benefit from your noble deed.
  18. Hi Martin I would like to design a few versions, that could fit various brands. I will look around for someone that is willing to lend me a Spark. Anyone in Bloem with a Spark? Can I borrow it for a few minutes?
  19. Its always a bonus if you can be innovative and be able to create things from scratch. Well done! Let me know when you get the need for a rear fender, maybe I can help.
  20. Hi Martin I would love to sell these to fellow hubbers! Thing is this version will only fit on Specialized FSR suspension. I would like to design and develop a range of rear fenders, but I would need donor bikes to reverse engineer. What bike do you ride?
  21. Hi Puncher That would be the standard Specialized Dangler guide that came with the bike.
  22. Very interesting, I can imagine that those guys have problems with the crud freezing in the mechs. Thanks for the compliments(you too Flowta). Oh yes! Bike always over clothes!
  23. With Spring approaching, I am starting to prepare myself and my gear for some muddy rides. I am from Bloemfontein though and we might never have rain ever again, but none the less I am looking forward to some fun in the wet! A month or two ago I posted in Rant n Rave about a rear fender which I designed and then 3D printed for my 2012 Stumpjumper FSR. Back then it was still just virgin Nylon white, since then I have painted it. Quite a mission to paint these printed materials though, but I think it looks pretty good. This fender is designed to protect my FSR links from being bombarded with crud, I do not really mind getting some spray on my back. Thats part of the experience, is it not? Would you ride with fenders? If you would, would you rather protect your bike or your clothes?
  24. Good day everyone I am new to this forum, and glad to be part of it! I bought a 2012 Stumpjumper FSR Comp earlier this year, and it is awesome! One thing that I have noticed is that mud gets sprayed onto/into the rear linkages through the rear wheel. I dont mind getting sprayed by mud, but dont mess with my Stumpy! So what I did is I designed a rear fender, I am a mechanical engineer by the way, to protect the linkage bearings both the top links and bottom pivot. Then I laser sintered the model in Nylon SLS, I have access to 3D printers etc. I have attached some pics of the fender installed on my bike. I would like to see what the reaction is to this product. It is ridiculous for me to see that the fenders that one can buy, only protects the rider. If I get many responses I would like to series produce these fenders. I can also tweak the design to work on all Specialized FSR suspensions, and later to fit the other FS bikes. Excuse the photos, I snapped them last night after work.
