  1. Gaaaawd that Nomad is seriously hot! The more I look at it the more I need it! There has been some great releases lately, its almost impossible to buy something crappy looking..... If had the dough I would have a hard time choosing between a YT Capra, Orbea Rallon, SC Nomad and my others favs the Banshee Rune, Transition Covert, Spez Enduro and Alutech any one really. Maybe one day I will have them all, hanging on my walls everywhere...........one day!
  2. I will have a green one too, and please do hurry!!!!!
  3. Cool thanx merwe I see their website is still under construction, I will PM you for his personal adres.

  5. Hi Hairy Damn good price you got that fork for! I am specifically looking for a 34mm chassis or more. I would like to have the option of adjustable travel 140mm+ as well. Did you get yours from The Bikeshed?
  6. Thanks for all the info Peter and BL, shizer 45% duties on clothing is ridiculous! Yeah Rock, the local distro also dont reply to my mails. Maybe I should go for it?
  7. Hi Flowta Cool beanz, hopefully he will see this thread. Thing is, I am bit careful of assuming what the final shipping tax and handling fees will be. Last year I ordered two hooded sweatshirt for me and a friend, from California, total price $45, landed and i had to pay R430 tax and other crap......WTF? Have you imported any parts above say $450? Maybe parts from Taiwan? Were the tax and other fees reasonable?
  8. Hi all So I was crusing on ebay the other day and found one of these: X Fusion Vengeance HLR DLA 140-170mm fork on auction, brand new from reputable Taiwan dealer. Eventually it went for only $455. Considering that the shipping to SA from that dealer is $47, total would have been $502 which is R5381. Total bargain or not. I am considering to buy one on the next auction. How much do you suppose the taxmaster will shred me on this?
  9. Yep in my dirt jumping days it helped alot to have a paceman to help you find the speed for a jump.

Thanx Brian That is very interesting reading there! If CrMo is anything like a Stainless to weld, then it should be very enjoyable. These types of steels tend to flow easily. I would like to see what the OP gets himself into, could be very interesting.

Hey Brian Cool stuff, I also competed in the Sasol Mini Baja for CUT for a few years. I am still bit involved in that. Sorry for referring an unsuitable link. NOTE OP I wanted to do business with ATS a few years back to manufacture A-arms for my ATV, I just thought that they would also have thinner walled tubing. Through the research I did to manufacture these aforementioned A-arms, I found numerous articles that stated that when TIG welding CrMo, it is advisable to pre heat or to weld on a heated jig. The less heat input to produce the weld pool the better. Sometimes the internal stresses in the weld are so severe that it will actually crack itself. Thus heat treatment/stress relieving afterwards is recommended. I dont have any experience with this though, just some wise words from random dudes on the net......

Check these guys out in Bergbron, for local CrMo suppliers. http://www.ats-motorsport.co.za/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=103&category_id=53&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 CrMo is a process to pre heat, weld and heat treat though. I am sure that you will get the hang of it with some tips from the net or the Salvo team. Good luck, its a great idea!
  16. I use an old thick wool mat, strap the bikes down lightly with tiedowns and chuck the mat in the cab when we take off.
  17. For those who own KS Lev Integras, check this article out! http://www.pinkbike....-show-2014.html Edit: Added Integras
  18. Well at least you made sure that you can fit 6 bikes on that bike pad. Pretty impressive......and it's always wise to prepare for everything. Having more than one bike is a bonus!!!!! I am still looking forward to my first enduro, but being in Bloem complicate things a bit. So I will try to ride the Festival of Dirt enduro in April........sorry off topic. Did I mention that your Sukuma looks fetchin?
  19. All those bikes on the back of yer Truck looks wicked! Way to go!
  20. I will be going over to Frankfurt in November for Euromold 2014, I better have saved up enough moolah by then to buy me one of dem puppies.........Sheet I will raise my credit card limit to buy that thing, I'll eat baked beans for a year just to look at her while I do.
  21. Hi NSBB What tool is that? Where did you get it from?
  22. Oh Capra my love, I am starting right now to save up for you..........
  23. That amount of play does not sound bad at all, the distance that you have covered is another story. I guess it depends how rough those last 2800kms were? Are the bearings at least still smooth running?
  24. I agree with yall. There should definitely be no play when the whole rear suspension is assembled. But when you wiggle the seatstay on its own, it might have some play side to side. With cartridge bearings the inner ring does have some play inside the outer ring.
  25. I am no expert, but at least I have a Mech Eng degree. I have not taken my seatstays? off my Stumpy FSR yet, but I know that the bearings themselves would have a small amount of play side to side. How old is your bike?
