Did you get the X1? if so how is it?

Bottom line after all this research is no car is ever a safe bet, they are all money pits. Once you own one drive it until it breaks beyond repair then buy another car and do the same.

What about a BMW X1 any comments on those?

Checked out the IX35, nice car but the quality of the finishes and features are now where near as good as the Jeep, but I have also confirmed that the Jeep looses value really badly over a short time span. So it looks like my 3 series is going to be driven offroad for a little while longer.

Found a good low milage Hyundia IX35 GLS for the same sort of money

I would love a sportage but at R290k for the equvilant car in terms of spec to the Jeep it is alot of money for the same thing,

Just looking for something that with tackle the dirt roads on my way to and from MTB events better than my 3 series does at the moment Not hardcore offroading

I currently drive a 3 series BMW so I am used to cars that have bad resale.

My plan would be to sell it with at least 1,5 years left on the maintince plan. How do they hold value while still ocvered by maintince plan?

I am looking at a low km 2nd hand 2011 model, so the car has already lost the value and it is priced R30k below the new price and has only 6900km's The motor plan has been extended to 5 years 100 000kms so I would be well covered from a maintance perspective The car I am looking at is the Jeep Compass 2l manual, the probelm is that if I comapre the specs of this car to the KIA this car has more features but is R70k less The question is will a new KIA loose as much resale over time? Also seems that the JEEP problems are on the Wrangler/RUBICON etc and the new Luxury SUV type cars are not as bad?

Anyone have any comments on Jeeps, I am looking at buying a new car and the Jeep is on the shortlist. It will have a full motor plan but what is the service like? Any hubbers with Jeeps or exeprince with Jeep that can comment?.

Seeding system doesnt seem to be working so well. Even if you finish in the top 10 of your starting batch you still get put back in that batch despite having finsihed with people seeded much higher than you, well this is what happened to me at least.

It is a 10mm hex, I got my set at builders the single allen key fitting is R120 or so. You Fishers takes a shimano spec BB not BB 30 they call it BB92 very easy to take out and clean etc. Had one on my Fuel and it was a breeze to work on. If this new BB goes as quickly as this one did then I am going to get a new crank maybe just a good old XT crank best value for money

Took the BB out tonight and it is the non drive side that is running rough, ordered another GXP from Buycycle, will try and get the bearings replaced in this one and then just alternate between the two, still cheaper than X1 Hope BB. Thanks for the advice

My frame has a drainage hole. If you do the maths bearing are R150 a pop labout is about the same. So it is a R300 exercise every 800-1000km A Hope BB is R950 so it needs to last at least 3000kms to break even, what is the likelyhood of getting 3000km out of a BB?

would love to go full XTR, not only is the crank expesnive but the blades are big numbers when you need to replace them. I recon the Hope BB or CK might be the answer.

I have a GXP BB on my bike and I have done roughly 800km on it and it is running rough. I was looking at a hope BB as a replacement, will the Hope last longer or it is a design flaw in the GXP desing that your bb life is reduced?
