I think the logic that this supplier should discount his price because the the rest of the event is expensive is a little silly. A new set of wheels will cost you R20k+. Use of them for the only two events some/most triathletes will likely need them for the whole year at R3k is probably not unrealistic. Only getting use of the wheels for race weekend is a bit silly on the vendor's part particularly because the wheels are probably sitting doing nothing the previous weekend. A three weekend rental deal would be more appealing to me personally. He has set a price. use it, don't use it.
So which part of the 200km did your team cycle for you? Sounds like they do not understand that all team members have to cycle the full 200km. The benefit of cycling in a group is hardly different to sitting in the bunch 94.7
Buy yourself a Tri6000 complete for R5k. Sell it for the same after IMSA. Did 2 70.3 and 2 IMSA's on mine. Including a sub 6 ride. Great value for money.
Anyone know who is the Race Director/organising body? Do ITU bring in their own team? Must be some massive logistical issues at that venue. Will be spectacular! Have visions of one of the 'friendly' seals doing a lead out on the swim.
Quite surprised at your criticism of FA. Probably own over a dozen FA items from cycling gear to jackets to running gloves. Would never have criticised them as poorly made from my personal experience. I have also read on this forum several times of their no questions asked replacements when items have failed.
Saw the Rocket at the 94.7 expo as said in my original post. Needs some development work in my opinion. Pockets were too baggy. Seam under crotch was not flat locked. Could see it being quite painful. They were very receptive to input. Next versions should be interesting.
