  1. My wife bought a pair of these for me for Christmas. I can't wait to put them to use. If kangaroos stay cool in Australia, then these can keep my hands cool here in SA!
  2. I have a giant 30.0, 380m, offset seatpost for someone who needs it. Also some lock on giant grips. PM if you need.
  3. Mind. Blown. So while I was in the store chatting to Byron, I asked if they sold the Grippp kangeroo leather gloves. Almost in passing. He said that they didn't, and we moved on to the next question. Then I receive a phone call from him yesterday just to let me know they now have the gloves in stock. Unbelievable. Really impressed. I'll be coming in to get those as a little post Christmas prezzie from me to me.
  4. This was my first night time ride ever. What a fantastic experience. I'll be doing that again for sure.
  5. I went in yesterday for some stuff, and I was helped exactly when I needed it by Byron. I'll ask for him every time from now on. He saved me a lot of cash with solid practical advice.
  6. Annual big sales.... Just like the Pro Shop. It's going to be AWESOME!
  7. I have a second hand tundra 2 which has been used for about 50km before I replaced it with a gobi. PM me with an offer around R300...
  8. 4:08, knobbly, duel sus. Loved every peddle stroke.
  9. Any tips for mtb tyre pressure for doing this? I'm thinking harder than when doing normal off road stuff?
  10. Throw in a courtesy bike and I'm in!
  11. Same happened with mine when I replaced the pads. Just go run them in on a hill and they'll be fine.
  12. I had this plan until I tried to clear some rocks in a rock garden with my knee, which also turned my brake lever into a shoelace. So I only managed 30 today. Guess it's a biggish ride on Tuesday followed by recovery regime until race day.
  13. Yes. Done that. Three times. Twice at the same place, and then tried someone else.
  14. Thanks man. Appreciate the feedback. I just called the guy at the HPC again, and he reckons we may also get away with the straight post. What I really need to is get someone to let me try both in the fitment place so that I don't have to make a +- R800 mistake.
  15. Thanks. Sent you a PM.
  16. Yes. That conversation. I've been waiting for that saddle, but seems that the rails still wouldn't be long enough after I had to raise the seatpost even more. I'm currently using the Fizik Gobie with Kium rails. Sorry about the confusion. I'm stumped. I've been to Cyclefit twice, and that's why I went for another opinion.
  17. Forgive the stupid question here. I already have the Ritchey 0mm offset (this one: http://ritcheylogic.com/road/seatposts/wcs-1-bolt-0mm-bb-black-seatpost.html), and It's still too far back. How would the Thomson zero offset improve things?
  18. Thanks. Can all brands be turned around? Not designed to handle different stresses? I don't really care how it looks if it get's me pedalling properly. There was some fore and aft setting, but it's now all to compensate for the other components not quite catering for the "correct" position.
  19. Hi, I need a bit of help. I've been for a fitting at 2 places now (Cyclefit and HPC at Tuks), and both agree that I need to be higher up (Longer seatpost) but as a result, need to move my saddle more forward to get back over the pedals correctly. I'm 1.98m tall. I'm already on a 400 seatpost, but right on the limit. They wanted to raise it a little more, but can't. I'm on a Giant Anthem X 1 (XL Frame size). I'm thinking of getting a 410 so that there is a little more seatpost in frame so I don't end up with a classic giant broken frame. The problem is the higher I take the saddle, the further back I go, and I've run out of rail on the saddle to move it more forward. Is there such a thing as a lay-forward seatpost? I'm not really sure what to do here, I've tried to look around but can't find one. I'm probably using the wrong name for the thing. Both fitters didn't like the idea of being on the end of the saddle rails. I've I'm going to spend more money on a new seatpost (410 to add a little more support in the frame), I'd love to solve the lay forward problem too. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.
  20. That's a great pic. Well caught!
  21. BTW, does anyone know where the results will be posted? Can't seem to find a results link on racetec's Web site.
  22. Ah. I was parked next to you in the car park. Sorry to hear. Technicals on race day suck.
  23. Really enjoyed the MTB race, except for the fact the my racetec chip wasn't picked up with my registration. I broke 3 hours on the Garmin though. So much wind!! Very well organised. Only one place where the route wasn't clear so lots of riders took an "alternative route". Very lekker day out. Good luck to the roadies for tomorrow!
  24. Awesome. Thanks for the info.
  25. Hi, I'm looking for a Podiatrist that can make me an insert for my cycling shoe. I find the traditional running shoe inserts are too high, and don't have good padding for the cleat "hot spot" area. Anyone know someone in the Greater Sandton area? Thanks!
