  1. Another +1 for the Giant Anthem X 1. I have upgraded my brakes to SLX, changed the saddle to a gobi, and popped on some spez tyres for my tubeless conversion. Just bought a dropper which hasn't been installed yet. I Love this bike. It's light enough to keep up with the roadies in the odd Road race, and I find it handles Very well with the spez tyres. It goes over more rough stuff than I have skills for. I fall every time I ride a trail, but the bike just keeps on going.
  2. Excellent. I'm very interested, but only if you're willing to deal with a bit of noobness.
  3. I'm 2m tall. I've never had anything normal size work for me.
  4. Sounds good. Bike size?
  5. What did you choose? I hope it was the Giant!
  6. 1.99m and riding a giant XL 29er. I have a 40mm riser and a 400mm seatpost on it...
  7. Ya, that's pretty much my policy. Except it's meant that he isn't interested in riding anymore because of it... I'm not going to push though. He still gets excited to see me on the bike so slow persuasion for now....
  8. +1 for aeropress. That thing makes unreal coffee. And I don't have to wait for it to heat up like my Sylvia.
  9. My wife bought me a tacx bike work stand, and a pair of Grippp kangaroo leather Gloves. She loves me.
  10. So awesome. Just wish they came in 29"...
  11. Where did you get these rims? What make are they? If you don't mind, how much? I MUST have them.
  12. Today I started the helmut fight with my little boy. He was so excited to see his Strider, but had a melt down when I wouldn't let him ride without the helmut... I even tried to put mine on as an example, but it didn't help.. This is a little off topic, so I apologise, but I could use any advice that has worked for you guys?
  13. Ok. My only question is about the chamois quality? The good craft stuff usually goes for double this price?
  14. The mini specialized bikes look awesome. But at R1800 they can keep them.
  15. Is this the best way to get them riding? I also have a 2 year old, and can't decide between peddles or peddless...
  16. Nice machine that. Just make sure you adjust the grind finer only while it is grinding..... Otherwise you end up damaging the cogs that drive the Grinder...
  17. My wife bought a pair of these for me for Christmas. I can't wait to put them to use. If kangaroos stay cool in Australia, then these can keep my hands cool here in SA!
  18. I have a giant 30.0, 380m, offset seatpost for someone who needs it. Also some lock on giant grips. PM if you need.
  19. Mind. Blown. So while I was in the store chatting to Byron, I asked if they sold the Grippp kangeroo leather gloves. Almost in passing. He said that they didn't, and we moved on to the next question. Then I receive a phone call from him yesterday just to let me know they now have the gloves in stock. Unbelievable. Really impressed. I'll be coming in to get those as a little post Christmas prezzie from me to me.
  20. This was my first night time ride ever. What a fantastic experience. I'll be doing that again for sure.
  21. I went in yesterday for some stuff, and I was helped exactly when I needed it by Byron. I'll ask for him every time from now on. He saved me a lot of cash with solid practical advice.
  22. Annual big sales.... Just like the Pro Shop. It's going to be AWESOME!
  23. I have a second hand tundra 2 which has been used for about 50km before I replaced it with a gobi. PM me with an offer around R300...
  24. 4:08, knobbly, duel sus. Loved every peddle stroke.
