  1. Not drinking coffee during the epic.... That's just crazy.
  2. You can't beat that maestro for 20k! As always, take them both out for a test spin. I agree with the dropper. That'll make the trance unstoppable.
  3. Why can't I stop trying to beat myself all the time. I'm sitting at work and my legs are FINISHED!
  4. When communicating in to work, mud is bad. Especially mud with sewage mixed into it. Especially if you store your bike in your car for the day. Especially if you can't find somewhere to hose it off.
  5. Completed my first commute hiccup free! People in traffic drive so aggressively! I absolutely loved it. Luckily, mostly off road, so I only had to deal with cars when crossing the road at traffic lights. I left the car at work, so back on the bike tomorrow morning. I can't wait!
  6. This is poetry:
  7. Commuter fail: stuck in traffic with my bike in the car. Trying to take supplies into the office...
  8. That's terrible. I really hope you find a cure soon!
  9. Ah. Road biking. Half a sport. Just kidding.... But I agree with the mtb option if you already have a road bike. The roads are getting more dangerous to ride on by the day... I just can't bring myself to spend money on a bike I'd be too scared to ride. For 23k, the 2014 Anthem x 1 can be had. It's a fantastic machine at that price. If you want a more trailsey ride, go for the giant trance x.
  10. Super autos are all pretty similar I find... Not great... Especially if you have been making your own good shots. Everything else sucks. They also probably cost almost double that unless you can find a goodish second hand one.
  11. I know. It's ridiculous... I couldn't believe my luck! Strictly speaking, it's mostly footpath. But good enough to have seen some fairly good traffic from mtb'ers this weekend.
  12. Definitely. That's the plan. Thanks!
  13. I scouted my commute route yesterday. Basically single track the whole way. Stoked. This week will be my first commute!
  14. I'd be interested in whether being left or right handed also had something to do with it. Pushing vs pulling with one hand instead of using the weaker hand / arm when turning the other way...
  15. anyone tried green bean coffee company? They roast on order, and deliver next day. I buy a load from them and it's always good. Their espresso house blend is good, and the Kenya stuff is always nice. http://www.greenbeancoffee.co.za/
  16. I hear a few shots from an Oscar can kill you.
  17. Any hubbers commuting between Fourways and Midrand? Specifically to Vodacom World or nearby? Looking for recommend routes (mtb) or riding buddies. Thanks!
  18. Oh hectic. That sounds like a plan
  19. I rode with ergon grips for a while, and didn't like the fact that the grips forced a specific hand/wrist angle. I like to drop my wrists a little when riding certain technical sections, as to put more force "behind the bike" rather than "down on top of the bike". It's the only reason I went back to esi grips....
  20. Apparently wider is the new narrow of rolling resistance. They've done tests.
  21. I had loads of fun today. Loads. I have a lot of work to do, but it helped so much to have someone who understands the movements to give you the right pointers. Thanks Peach. If you're even a little bit curious, Go for it. Really worthwhile.
  22. So I'm not necessarily worried about the pricing.... That was just for benchmarking really. I will go have a discussion with them to let them know about the issues. I think they at least need a chance to fix any problems. For the record, I had not rushed them at all. I told them to keep the bike as long as they needed to. I'll let you know what happens. This whole thing could turn into a great service story if they make things right. Plus, they are going to have to wash my bike again to take a look at it properly. ;-)
  23. Awesome. I'm looking forward to Wednesday!
  24. I love my rocky. It has a bit of a tendency to clump, but I have it dialed perfectly for my favorite beans now. It's still a bit noisy....
  25. I got myself a new tamper last week. Nothing too fancy, but it's made a huge difference. I'm rancilio all round now. Rocky, Sylvia, and rancilio rose wood tamper. I'm a huge addict and coffeesnob!
