  1. Man they are beyond pulling legs, they are playing footsie with each other while blissfully thinking the other foot belongs to Emily Batty
  2. Someone on the hub into Bauhaus - who would have guessed!
  3. I think it is a principle thing - so how is Amabubesi kit different? Pretending to have done something once is as much of a plonker thing to do as pretending that you have done it 3x.... which maybe makes the pro team kits more acceptable because it shows that you are a fanboy/girl... sorta like nobody will believe I am Ayrton Senna because of my T shirt. But with Sani/Epic/Transbaviaans/sub 3 whatever kit it pretty much should mean that you did it...just my feeling Plus Epic makes an epic amount of money off the prestige. PS. I will ride incognito untill I earn my TranAlp finishers jersey
  4. Ja, doing the same, I just think it would be nice to have a std solution on the bike as sold since this is something peculiar to the Lefty. I like what some of the other manufacturers are doing in terms of these small touches - Like Specialized's chain stay protectors on the Stumpjumper HT or Merida and Canyon's way of making sure you cannot knock your top tube with your bar. But not a big issue, just thinking aloud at the end of a long day.
  5. Picked up a Save for my Carbon 3 at a bargain EUR110 from my (substitute) LBS in Germany, but have to wait until December to get back to SA to actually fit and ride it . I did test one on a Carbon 2 earlier this year and it worked for me.
  6. Same thoughts here. Cannondale could possibly spend a little effort on some nice chain stay protectors and also cable guide sollutions around the Lefty. I have seen so many that are rubbed to ****
  7. I am still surprised by how few F29s you see out there. It is one of those bikes that makes the whole wheel size debate fairly irrelevant and models like the Carbon 3 have insane upgrade potential.

    Carte Blanche

There is a reason he is the boss Whatever his motive he clearly knows how to cut throught he bull but, the bottomline is you have no choice - you have to take him up on it, you have to perfom and you have to make sure your work does not suffer. Have fun, very few of us have jobs (nevermind bosses) who could tollerate this... even though it looks like most of us sit yapping online all day
  9. My absolute favorite is when the seller gets all aggro before he even starts talking to potential buyers - you don't see it so much on the Hub, but it is quite common on sites like Gumtree. The "don't waste my time" types. A 2 second search for an example yielded this gem: http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-cars-in-bluff/e30-320i-525436820
  10. Just messing with you - I would blame set-up if I were you
  11. yes your skills sound k@k
  12. has anyone seen Nino - he must be shorter than a 5th grader. I also would not go anywhere near a 29er if I was built like him... but I am not and nor is the average grown SA male
  13. I do not agree with your blanket assumption, but I don't want this to degenerate into exactly what I am arguing against while someone might be badly hurt, so let's just say I also don't know what happened here. I hope the rider is ok.
  14. Think about it: highly unlikely that the car would be standing where it hit the bike
  15. A difficult one to judge since wheel build plays a big role, but in theory will Crests flex more than Arches?
  16. It is going to take a lot of Stans to seal that...
  17. There are a lot of people in serious denial here.
  18. lovely, but I am not convinced by your approach of leaving the seat off to get in under 10kgs
  19. Happiness is an unexpected bargain found
  20. 100%. I'll resist telling the story how I upgrade from my tricycle to my BMX to..., but I believe Iearnt most of what I know about picking lines with zero suspension...
  21. erm, well now that you mention it...it is a crowded race catering for roadies... :-)
  22. Egg beaters for me all the way. thousands of k's without a single thought....but this is probably one of those choices where you need to make you own mind up.
  23. I might be wrong being only 1.8 tall, but this is not a 29/26 argument if you look at what Fred is comparing- even as a happy 29 HT owner I would consider the much higher spec Dual Sus options to be much better buys. That said geo and setup is king to ensure you feel at home - more so than wheel size.
  24. Nice timing
