  1. Flip, that oke is either unemployed or doesn't sleep. Respect - that is some mileage
  2. Can't talk - skipping out of work to go cycling before it gets dark.
  3. I'm in. Wife has signed off on it. Heading rapidly into the winter rainy season here in Ireland, so Mtb all the way. Time is the issue for the first two weeks. If I can get that done, then I will worry about the rest. It looks easy when it sits on the calendar, maybe not so easy adjusting the calendar to reality.
  4. I would suggest that you are one of the exceptions to the norm. For most of us, the freedom ride type of event is something that we talk about around the braai but is not something that we will actually ever do, normally because of priorities being more aligned to family, work, time etc. For us, the stage race environment provides an opportunity to get out and test ourselves whilst still addressing life outside and the fact that we get to sleep on a mattress and eat a Lekker meal each evening does not make us feel that it was not a "proper" experience. I would imagine that you might say that people who have climbed Everest are not "proper" climbers because they did not spend days hanging off cliff faces and may have been guided.
  5. Perhaps you would be kind enough to share some video of what you think is technical riding in a xcm.
  6. I would give my left tit to ride this event. Have to get the kids through school and varsity first though.....
  7. Before CRC was my LBS, when I was in SA, I am sure that the VAT difference was reflective of the VAT rate. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. No need to stay overnight, but there is a lekker atmosphere and it adds to the experience I.m.o. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Interesting. I was involved with a very very well known brand of outdoor products for a while and, if anybody discounted the RRP, they would find that every time they ordered going forward, their items were out of stock. This was done to protect the small dealers from the huge dealers. I must stress that this was not my end of the business. There are many ways to control price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Hi That is Helen's Tower, between Bangor and Newtownards. Scrabo is just the other side of Newtownards. I'll snap a picture from our front lawn tonight if the weather is clear. How are you keeping? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. Not being an avocado myself, I am not sure what the relevance of that would be. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I have to say, I have, on three separate occasions now, trained with my Apple Watch running strava and, separately, my garmin connected to my chest strap, purely for the purpose I got accuracy of the watch, and thus far have not noticed any major discrepancies between the two. I will ask one of the clever techies at work today if there is a watch issue and revert. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Groenkloof after being away for a while was amazing as always. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
