  1. Ha - I always add ice to the cheaper Whisky. Love a bit of Black Bush on ice.
  2. Nothing like a wee quiet whisky on a Friday evening when the family is not home yet.
  3. 60 day aged Tomahawk. 4 fingers thick. That is a full size roasting dish. That, along with some wors, was dinner last night.
  4. I Braai at least twice a week throughout the year here in Northern Ireland. Always charcoal, never gas. I refuse to braai burgers or sausages as I believe that that is what sets a braai apart from a BBQ. Winter braaing can be bracing sometimes, but I also love the quiet time standing outside in the cold alone sometimes. I agree with the rule of Never ever interfere with or comment on another man's (or woman's) braai, but was severely challenged on this this past weekend when we were invited to friends down the road for a braai. I turned up a few minutes late as I had been out on the bike, only to find a group of people standing around a cold pile of charcoal, having used a whole box of firefighters trying to light it. It turned out that they had been lighting the Weber and then putting the lid on immediately. Anyway, I was immediately asked to get involved and tried to do this as humbly as possible out of respect for the man of the house and the other men that were there. Long story short, I ended up cooking the steaks as well as the huge pile of wors that I had brought along for them, whilst three men stood around holding plates and pouring drinks. I know all three of these guys very well, but have only ever braaied with them at my house, so was unaware of this facet of their personas. On the way home, my daughter innocently asked why her friends dads couldn't braai and this started a chain of thought in my head, in which I am doubting these guys and the very basis of our friendships. I have come to the conclusion that I just have to accept that perhaps I am old fashioned in my expectation of others. Even though I rationally can understand this, I still can't stop feeling an irrational disappointment in or disconnect from these mates, which further highlights why this will never truly be home for me. 5. That is incredibly poor manners. You should have sprayed them with the hose and told them to **** off. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Visiting Croatia at the moment and my boy and I rented a couple of bikes last week and took a ride up the coast. Brutal heat but stunning
  7. Did my first 8 hr endurance event on Saturday at Castlewellan forest park. Every lap was brutal, no free metres, technical, rocky but brilliant. Also was the hottest day of the year so far in Northern Ireland so was good to be out. Managed to break a hanger, damage a rim and tear a sidewall. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I have no idea yet. Will try and set it all up tonight as I have an 8 hour endurance event tomorrow.
  9. Look what was waiting for me when I got home today. A small fortune in duties, but super excited.
  10. Turns every ride into an intervals session Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. My suspension locks pretty solid
  12. Congratulations China. What a goal to aim for.
  13. http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/sad-1.gifDoubt that you will see any difference. I imagine that they will run the two websites side by side and just combine warehousing and shipping to save bucks
  14. As I understand it they are combining the operation with Wiggle. Not sure what that looks like, but they are closing the Northern Ireland mail order warehouse
  15. It is great having CRC up the road. They have closed the shop at the warehouse in prep for closing the warehouse in July, but the retail shop offers the same pricing and can order in anything from the warehouse in 24 hrs.
  16. Keeps me broke [emoji23]
  17. Popped in to CRC today to order a saddle for my MTB. No intention to buy anything else. Saddle ordered. Left with these other critical items lol [emoji23]. Never tried Schwalbe tyres before Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Brilliant- let me know and I can show you some trails
  19. I have started a wee page called cycleinireland if anyone wants to have a look - bit of a mix of cycling pics from here and SA Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  21. My Anthem the night before last here in Northern Ireland
  22. CRC doesn't set the exchange rate Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Wasn't perhaps last week when the currency fluctuated around the Cabinet changes was it? Perhaps you were unlucky enough to get hit with a **** rate. Your credit card statement should show the rate
  24. Thank you Ian
  25. That's a brilliant money management example. We are easily running 4 - 5 times that, although the kids are younger so therefore present and expensive.
