  1. Does it come in SILVER and could i put my XTR on the back? oh, and one more question, will it fit a baby rack on the back for my son?
  2. Dude, I have said this before but will say it again... I use Northcliff cycles. A major service costs me R450.00 excluding pars that need to be replaced. the I have never had any problems with them at all. In fact they have more often that not done more than expected when it comes to my bikes well being... I am not a pro rider or even a very good rider but i ride quite a lot and often have to have stuff changed, fixed etc... Ruan is the service dude there and he is fan fekken tastic. the customer service is also awesome. Give them a try. Like i said, I ride an old silverback but they treat it as if it were a top of the range Bianchi or summin. I am very impressed.
  3. Sparky, Where you based? if close by, I'll even use my own petrol and drive to you and take her off your hands... I have a really old reno that could do with a bit of an upgrade, I am sure i could slap a few of my components on her frame and really learn to ride... Please lemme know if that is cool?
  4. Happy Happy Batty.
  5. That is quite a toight pic... took 3 hours to convince my wife i was not roaming porn sites...

Azonic. thanks dude.. that will help a lot. As i never saw the bike i do not even have a clue... just trying to help her with the insurance claim. I'll google both the 4100 and the 4300 and take it from there. Thanks again.

    OLD TREK.

Hey all. A mate of mine "HAD" an oldish TREK mountain bike, with solid forks (No Suspension) we recon it was somewhere between 5 and 6 years old and it was stolen this weekend. She needs to put it through on her household insurance. Would anyone be able to give us any idea of a model or value for this as she did not keep the receipt for 6 years...
  13. dude... that is an awesome boney, but where do you hang the bike rack?
  14. SAPS use R100.00 notes to bribe the robbers.
  15. Dude... I recon if you plugged that stuff in a guys face he'd deff no be able to swipe your ride. I got hit with it a few years ago... (an idiot friend at a braai) The would be thief will be down for ages and his eyes will burn for abut 2 days. I have a spare pump clip on my bike in which i have a retractable steel baton. i recon once you hit him with the pepper spray you could cock him around a bit when he is down. Thee are available in just about any flee market or security store. Maybe carrying both might help" See pic attached.
  16. Daxiet, Thank you very much for that info. You were just in time, I have yet to upgrade, was contemplating doing it this weekend. Yea, i'd really like to change to disk brakes too so i recon i'll flog the reno and get summin a bit better second hand, then slowly upgrade that one. I doubt i will go carbon fibre ever as i tend to fall off quite often. Recon i'd be well bleak if i rode my new carbon frame and trashed it on day 1. I had a look at that dakota. Man it looks quite cool. Thanks again. Any one wanna buy a SILVERBACK RENO?? Offers?
  17. I have found that Alex from Northcliff Cycles is brilliant. He has never tried to extract excessive money from me. I have asked him the same questions i have asked the hubbers and got pretty much the same answers. He seems to value me as a client more than the quick buck he can get. Give him a try. I am sure he would be able to assist with your rims jroux. I think is understands that we are not all made of lots of money but that lots of money can come from lots of small amounts.
  18. Thanks Martin and Mampara. I will keep my eyes peeled. I am sure one wll come around. I now just have to buy this bike from my mate and then i can actually start riding more often.
  19. That sounds like an awesome plan. Thanks Mampara. You said i'll not find a better bike for less than 3k but what would a better fork alone set me back? and what am i looking at? (Remember i am new to this...) name and model would help greatly
  20. Hi all. I did my first ride in ages this weekend and quickly came to realize that the shocks i have on my bike could probably be a bit better. They are SUN TOUR something or other. (They came standard) on the bike i used, a Silverback Reno). 1: What shocks would be better than these and not too expensive? 2: Is it really worth changing them or would i be better off buying a new bike? 3: what would a decent entry level bike with a decent group set and shocks set me back?
  21. I'm quite partial to the lowveld, it works as a great workout when you are trying to outride a running buffalo.
