    Hopefully 4th time lucky for me having driven down to the Karoo three times before: 2016: Withdrew as I had flu; 2017: The road between the pass and Prince Albert got washed away; 2018: My Niner became scrap metal as it fell of the bike rack and got dragged behind the car on the way to the start.

    This is what makes us humans so vulnerable. We come out of a bad space and we relish the kindness/respectshown/fun/seks/attention/admiration/etc without realising that it may only be great because we missed it so much. ps. When it gets to that point, wear a condom. Not only because you don't want a STD but you don't need a baby at this stage of your life.

    That is what I always believed but if you have to hang around the airport, things aren't so lekker. It seems that they have found it, maybe I can ride later this morning. How do I get to somewhere nice to ride from a hotel at the airport ?

    Ag well, somewhere between Frankfurt and Heathrow BA managed to lose my bike on Thursday and despite "finding" It 5 times, they still don't know where it is. I was due to do a gran Fondo this morning and fly home tonight. Stuck in London

    O When my ex got married again, the only thing I felt was sorry for the poor guy....

    I would definitely only do the 95 if I was riding a CX. The far side is only just ridable; on a CX bike it will be like doing an Enduro on a HT MTB. And coming back up, it is a technical climb done often at very slow speed with road surface rather than incline being the limiting factor. ps: I have entered for the 95 as I want to ride my Gravel bike.
