  1. SHITE! I did that loop the other day for the first time - lekker for training, but I was also alone, there were however a lot of other cyclists on the road as well - so I felt kinda safe. I wanted to do that loop again this coming weekend but I am not willing to take the risk. F****ng crime in this country is MAD! One of these days you won't be able to ride anywhere!! Now there goes another training route... :cursing:
  2. PEOPLE, THE CHOICE IS YOURS! I know and I agree - the thing is, you can try and make difference or a more informed choice. For as long as we buy and ask for these products they will be there, but as soon as the people don't want it, they will have to give us an alternative - power of the masses kinda thing. Here are some pictures to try and help explain:
  3. Then I suggest that you watch the documentary "Bitter Seeds", or talk to some local farmers who has planted crops with Monsanto seeds, maybe then you will sing a different tune...

  6. Unfortunately most of the products are GMO, but just pop in your local health shop and ask for alternatives or http://www.freshearth.co.za/store/default.aspx
  7. I know, but after seeing that film, my eyes opened to what is really going on, and I can now back my decision not to support any type of GMO products.
  8. Do yourself all a favor and watch the film "Bitter Seeds"

  12. FINALLY! SOME REPLIES! Yup, saw that now and removed day 3's profile. Hope we will see an update on that soon.
  13. No idea, sorry.
  14. My brother bought the same one a few weeks back. Awesome ride for an entry level bike. Good quality frame & components. This bike will most prob last quite a number of years. Tyres maybe changed for better grip if you find that you need it. I agree with the replies above - the bike and frame can handle much more than the rider.

  17. No idea Grease! I wish people who had done this event before could share some info on this tread! Another question, do you need to provide your own mattress? And is a sleeping bag necessary?
  18. Most of the salesmen at the bike shops also says that a lot, they also recommend getting XC bikes, cleats & lycra, I wonder why? Surely it's up to personal choice? 29'er or 26'er, whatever. Stop trying to convince others that it's better. Give us more options instead! That is the problem I have with bike shops these days! If you are not kitted out with the best of this & that, or don't ride a 29'er, you have a kuk bike.
