  2. Last years CC there was a woman at the top of a climb in a bikini with a bicycle pump asking if anyone wanted a 'pomp'? That was quite encouraging.
  3. Funny you should say that.i was commuting home on Friday on lynwood bridge over the N1 at a red robot doing a track stand.taxi behind me hooting to try put me off.ignored him but when pulling away he thought it funny to squash me onto the curb (breaked hard to avoid)....then stopped in front of me.i swerved around him and gave him a piece of my mind as I went passed . not impressed.
  4. Got a very cool reflex cap from the hub guys.made my day! Also raped that belt driven fatty round the course and ripped the skin off my right leg on the pump track.nice arvie riding
  5. Heading up there shortly from Bedfordview, very keen.whos manning the hub stand?
  6. I'd be super keen for this! track stands are one skill iv managed to master! wheelies, manuals not so much.
  7. Yoh this just got my heart pumping! can see myself hitting way more jumps on my commute home just now after that!
  8. I'm going recommend Chris from cmc service centre....always a pleasure dealing with him.he won't rip you off.and hel explain what he did.how he did it and why. ...He takes pleasure in teaching people.....His details are in the service section.
  9. I also had a great event. ...managed to get 29 laps in for my team at an average of 15min a lap...was happy with our final result. ....was super cold getting out of the sleeping bag during the night though and was a pleasure to heat up on the bike. ..met some great guys during the night though not sure if any were Hubbers.
  10. just found a fourth rider! so we back in for the win! Our team is team 'ginger beer'...must say how's it if you see us.enjoy and sorry about the dust I leave behind me
  11. will speak to jeanne at asg...am hoping we can find some to ride even if just balls to the wall for 2 or 3 hours will make a difference.....either way going to be a jaul!
  12. Saturday can't come fast enough right now! very keen for this event! one small problem is we racing in the 4 man class with just 3 riders.going to be interesting still trieng to be competitive. looking forward to meeting some Hubbers!
  13. On my way to work this morning. spotted a guy riding the above mentioned bike on 'the village road' near lynwood bridge pretoria. I was unable to stop and get a picture but he stopped at a shop and so figure he frequents that spot. I don't want to be given k@k for posting this.but the rider definitely didn't look right. hope this helps someone in potentially getting back there bike. PM me for more details
  14. Hey guys.looking for 1 possible team member in a 4 man team...anyone looking to join?
  15. Think everyone is missing the point here...This guys posted a few videos up some better than others...I actually happend to to meet the guy one morning on the spruit...just another person who's out enjoying himself on his bike like we all do.cause he's not riding some expensive bike with cleats and doing tail whips on all the jumps does not give anyone the right to insult him....just my opinion
  16. hell yeah!!! entering this week....either a 2 or 4 man team.
  17. Going to have to agree here.been staying in lynwood area last couple months.and it irwin has been great help and even willing to take the extra time to explain things....also like to mention Jason one of the mechanics has been of great help and very knowledgeable.
  18. Any hubbers keen on doing a lap of the spruit this afternoon, possibly from witkoppen down to emmarentia and back at a med to faster pace? ANY TAKERS?
  19. Though I have never done it before, spending the week working and staying in PTA,feels like it gunna be a cold morning,so have jumped into bed with thermal top,bib and leg warmers semi on already, very warm! No few second of cold when changing for me tmrw morning!
  20. If its a road ride from home prepare night before!! NB If a MTB ride at another location I use a medium sized black box from makro to pack everything into.(Convenient after the ride aswell when its been muddy) That way all you gota grab is bike, box and pomp.
  21. To all those that do work on the spruit, awesome stuff and thank you...finally got round to riding it today and had an absolute jaul on the jumps, berms, tables, drops except that big gap jump, couldnt bring myself to hit that...either way now I know what all the fuss is about.so thanks to the fairies once again. Just one question,on jans smuts, that trench is it a step up jump or should we hit it coming down? Felt the kicker to step up wasn't big enough? Or do I just need to suck it up and hit it?
  22. Yeah might do the job.but I'd still always ride with the correct spare hanger and always do. If its just to get you home to buy another one, then you might aswell just have the right one from the start.
