  1. I have scoured the majority of posts and cannot find anything, anyone know if any of the local clubs ride saturday mornings? If so from where and what time? Road or mtb doesn't matter!
  2. No handed wheelie! That skill blows my mind! forget about peter sagans 1 handed wheelies!
  3. Think I may have just missed that 2 year warranty! What I'm hearing from other sources is that being adual shock I may need to play with the negative and positive chambers to find a balance.
  4. Shock is a rockshox reba sl
  5. After having just been at my LBS to collect my bike I discover that their appears to be a lot less travel than I remember ( shock is shorter, after the guys had a look and I sat on it and almost maxed it out with an apparent 120psi in it.they decided to send it back to CT to be relooked at. My concern is that my stansions ( hope I spelt that right) do have a few slight ridges on them, however before the service I had no problems with airloss. And cannot afford new ones! What other factors could be invloved? I did also have a remote lockout removed and a standard one put in its place if that could effect it. Help please!?
  6. Iv only ridden there alone and yet have never been alone, there's always enough riders around.and security.so sure youl be fine!
  7. I'm in bedfordview, don't have a lot of experience in sculpting anything very worth while.but am keen to be involved and will in all likely spend time there when complete.
  8. Good luck with the can of worms you just opened! Be interesting to follow this. I can say I agree with you on a large portion of what you say. For me I will always stop at a red light first(always) if it is not a big intersection and there is not a single motorised vehicle,I will then proceed to cross the intersection on a red.(Always worried a hubbers going to be in a car nearby )
  9. Who's taking part in the 200km? And is anyone aware of the possible route? Any other interesting details?
  10. very cool anime, can definitely see myself use this as motivation at some point!
  11. So what songs or tunes do you guys sing to yourselves to get you up those long climbs wether in your head or out loud!? For some reason iv heard more than one person humming 'eye of the tiger' For mr its hey now by 'martin solveig and the cataracs' WHAT'S YOURS?
  12. Sounds lekka wil join next week!always enjoy a chance to ride at night! I work 5min up the road so very convenient.
  13. Anywhere in johannesburg that will service rockshox reba? Or if not in jozi where can I send it?
  14. Also you tubes your friend! When I started back in the day that's all the training I had, would watch videos then hit the trails and practiced.never done a training course.
  15. Super bleak was part of the accident in LL 12km in was hanging back to help a friend...one guy allen has a broken leg and is in surgery atm, another guy dislocated shoulder, and another friends bike is written off...I escaped with a buckled front tire after bunny hoping over one of the guys...hope the badly injured are all ok! P.S took 30min for an ambulance to arrive and anuda 20min to get him on it,I'm no expert but being that close to the start it shud not take that long!
  16. Hey brunch,I'm based in bedfordview.just down the road from the news cafe,I normally ride after work but do ride mornings aswell.normally at at abt 5am for a little more than an hour....let me know if you keen
  17. Was a good ride again! Nice to see the trails we rode saw some maintenance, not to muddy, just enough to have fun and not destroy ur bike!
  18. Not sure what the exact problem could be,but I can give advice on experience and what iv learnt so far.when putting new stans)or whatever you using in. First take an old tooth brush and dunk it repeatedly in some stans and scrub the rim, this will help get it in any nooks and crannys.after that put the tyre on and full with stans I pump only till both sides pop and seal then shake the tyre, after that put more pressure and spin wheen on bike(or just ride it)....if you pumping tyres up to 3 or 4 bar for road riding,be sure to drop the pressure right back down again afterwards, apparantly this will help prevent the tyre from weakining down the middle and causing small holes.....so far iv taken this advice and all has gone well. I been on tubeless 4 months now and def saved a few races and rides for me. Good luck
  19. Go out and ride them all! Its awesome riding the same trail in different conditions and getting a different experience.I love riding after its just rained! Doing cutties round corners manualing through mudy water and getting dirty is great fun.its what its all about!
  20. Iv done plenty jozi riding including the critical mass, normall ride, big red barn, thaba, modderfontein and northern farms.figured it was time I gave the spruit a go,especially after seeing pics of some of the new jumps.
  21. Doing the fast one on the mtb this week sunday...so next week sunday possibly?
  22. Ladies and gents, Are there any group rides that ride the spruit? I moved to jozi mid last year and have not yet done it,I hear its best to do it with someone who knws the route.just want to know the ins and outsof it. Any advice?
  23. Came across black mambas 3 times at giba gorge in in durban, first time I could have reached to my left and picked it up,trail was elevated on one side so was at about waist height, snake spooked and went in opposite direction I was traveling, and used my mate behind mes front tire as support to get across the trail and into the bush,I can honestly say its the fastest iv ever sprinted! Giba has helicopter landings spots cut into the bush at various points for evacuations and markers so you can call and accurately state where on the trails you are.closet anti venom is at st augustines almost 30min drive away. Giba still some of the best riding I ever had though!
  24. Bit of feed back...took into the LBS,after a long discussion, they agreed to give me a new chain, and will return mine to suppliers.let's hope this lasts a bit longer! @brandonF have orderd the taya decca chain aswell and will give it a try.
  25. I love it! It goes with me everywhere! Use to use it mainly for spearfishing back in durban! But use it on the bike,in the car, skiing, messing around at the dam,in the pool, partys ect etc,and you can catch great stills from the footage! So worth the money! Mines one of the older ones and still happy with it! P.S go chesty for the mtb!
